NARRATIVE REPORT ON THE SCHOOL-BASED SEARCH FOR BEST ELLN CORNER,
BEST ELLN IMPLEMENTER, AND MOST ACTIVE MEMBER OF ELLN
Introduction:
Objectives:
The competition was structured around several key objectives: a. To craft the
most inviting and stimulating reading corners, thereby promoting a joy for reading
among students. b. To honor teachers who demonstrate significant involvement and
passion in implementing ELLN projects. c. To acknowledge teachers who have
achieved the highest percentages of students becoming literate and numerate. d.
To credit all teachers who have dedicated time and effort to make the ELLN
program lively and effective.
Participants:
The event saw active participation from 11 teachers who handle kindergarten
to Grade 3 classes. These educators were evaluated on various criteria aligned with
the stated objectives.
Implementation:
Best ELLN Corner: Teachers were encouraged to design and set up reading corners
in their classrooms. The criteria for evaluation included creativity, appeal,
accessibility, and the use of materials that stimulate reading. Teachers used diverse
resources such as colorful posters, student-made art, comfortable reading spaces,
and a variety of books appropriate for early graders.
Best ELLN Implementer: This category recognized the teachers who excelled in the
application of ELLN teaching methodologies. Observations were conducted to
assess how these educators engaged students with innovative teaching practices
and materials. Special emphasis was placed on teachers who showed exceptional
skill in fostering literacy and numeracy through dynamic and interactive lessons.
Most Active Member of ELLN: This accolade was awarded to teachers who went
beyond the call of duty in promoting literacy and numeracy. Factors such as extra
time spent with students, involvement in additional literacy programs, and
collaboration with parents and the community were considered.
Closing Ceremony:
The event culminated in a ceremony held on June 16, 2023, where the
winners were announced and rewarded for their dedication and hard work. The
ceremony also served as a platform for sharing best practices and experiences
among teachers, fostering a collaborative environment within the school.
Conclusion:
The School Based Search for Best ELLN Corner, Best ELLN Implementer, and
Most Active Member of ELLN at Llavac Elementary School successfully met its
objectives, creating a stimulating environment that promotes reading among early
