STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURE

TITLE PAINT CONTROL

PURPOSE VERIFYING THE COATING MATERIAL’S COMPLIANCE WITH THE SPEC.

1. Ensure the latest Technical Data Sheet of the Paint(s) is available & the
concerned personnel have read it.
2. Ensure the latest MSDS (material safety data sheet) of the Paint(s) is available
& the concerned supervisory personnel have read it.
3. Ensure the paint storage is as per the description in the data sheets.

PROCEDURE 4. Ensure the Product compliance with the specification.

5. Note down the Batch Numbers, Item Codes & Mfg Date of all the drums taken
for painting.
Different batch nos. for Base & Hardener. Also there can be more than 1 batch
nos. for each item.
But item code of each type should not change from container to container.

Important to be noted at each

application.

Any quality dispute / research in

the future shall demand that data
as the paint batch nos. can be
traced back to the manufacturer’s
REMARKS
laboratory.

The paint tin has all that

information printed or stuck on it.

Thinner data also should be

picked up.
