USING OF GNSS 2007-2019 DATA FOR CALCULATION OF SLIP RATE OF

SUMATRA FAULT IN KUMERING SEGMENT

ABSTRACT
Tectonic activities on the island of Sumatra have led to the formation of faults. The type of
fault on the island of Sumatra is a horizontal fault, one of the segments in the southern part of
the Sumatran Fault, namely the Kumering Segment. The Kumering Fault is located in the
Bukit Kampak area, northwest of Bintuhan City to the Suoh Valley. To determine the
deformation conditions of the Kumering Fault, periodic observations are made. Observations
are made at existing observation points using periodic GNSS from BIG. Observation data
were processed online, using AUSPOS. The results of data processing using AUSPOS are
geocentric coordinates, then the geocentric coordinates are transformed into topocentric
coordinates. The topocentric coordinates will be processed using linear regression with the
least squares parameter smoothing method to obtain the shift value. The purpose of this study
was to determine the shear rate of the Kumering Fault.
The results of this study indicate that there is a significant shift from each point of
observation. The shifts at each observation point shifted in the range of 17-26.6 mm / year, so
from these results it can be concluded that the Kumering Fault occurred deformation. The
value of the calculated shear rate on the Kumering Fault is 16.1 mm / year with an internal
lock of 18 km from the Kumering Fault.
