Act by saying these phrases –

OMG, I FEEL SOO DEPRESSED

I GET OCD SEEING THAT SHELF

THAT WAS SOO TRAUAMTIC

You're such a NARCISSIST

____________________________

I'm sure you're guilty of using at least some of these words in your conversations. But do we
truly understand the severity of these issues?

You say you're depressed, but It's more than feeling sad occasionally. It involves persistent
hopelessness, loss of interest, changes in appetite or sleep patterns, and difficulty
concentrating. It's a severe condition that requires support and treatment.

After seeing an unorganised shelf, you might say you have OCD, but -OCD is not about
being neat or organised. OCD is your brain repeatedly telling you to perform an action or
behaviour that alleviates anxiety. It can significantly impact daily life.

Trauma It's not just a challenging experience. Trauma refers to deeply distressing events that
overwhelm a person's coping ability. It can lead to symptoms like flashbacks, nightmares,
and emotional distress, often requiring professional help.

Narcissism is not just being self-centred. Narcissistic Personality Disorder involves an

inflated sense of self-importance, a constant need for admiration, a lack of empathy, and
manipulative behaviour. It can affect relationships and personal well-being.

By using these terms lightly or incorrectly, we risk trivialising the real challenges people
face. Let's be mindful of our language and create a supportive environment instead.

So, the next time you hear someone casually throw around these terms, let's educate and
spread awareness about the true impact of mental health conditions.
