IN CRIMINOLOGY AND
POLICE STUDIES COURSE

M.A./M.Sc. in Criminology and Police Studies (2 Year Degree Programme) is an

excellent blend of theoretical and applied criminology. Theoretical subjects like
Theories of crime and Criminal Law help to build the foundations on which
practical subjects like crime analysis, criminal investigation, security management,
etc. can be taught to students who can apply these skills and knowledge in
various domains like private security management, human rights organizations
and social work organizations. This course comprises of four semesters
comprising of various papers like Theories of Crime, criminal law, criminal and
forensic psychology, criminal justice system, penology and correctional
administration, victimology, forensic science, crime analysis, research
methodology, police administration, organizational behavior in policing and
human rights. Apart from class room teaching this course also includes practical
exposure through field work, internships, visits to police stations, courts, prisons
and NGOs and interaction with practitioners including police officers, prison
officers, judges and lawyers. Former students of this course are working in various
sectors like brand protection, NGOs and hotels like Taj,Marriott and Radisson.
