The Importance of Technology

“Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.”

-Arthur C. Clarke

In this tech-savvy world it would definitely not be an exaggeration to say to that we do not use technology,
rather we live in it. From preparing breakfast in the morning with the oven to browsing the internet we
cannot fathom our lives without the benediction of technology. Technology makes our life comfortable and
is the fundamental base of improvement in today’s society which has created a bridge among people of all
race, creed and caste thereby transforming the world into a global village.

However, technology comes with both its boons and banes. Despite its importance in communication,
industrial processes, computer sciences, mechanics, day-to-lives and so on the wrong usage of technology
can procure detrimental effects. Cyber bullying, hacking, spamming and plagiarism are just some of the
misuses of technology.

To conclude, it is evident that the role of technology in our lives is indispensable but that holds true only
when we use it appropriately. After all a blade in the hands of a terrorist can be a murder weapon but that
same blade in the hands of a surgeon can save someone’s life.
The Uses and Misuses of Social Media
“The power of social media is that it forces necessary changes.”

- Erik Qualman

One of the greatest contributions of technology which connects people from all over the globe making the
world a global village is social media. From sharing and fostering of ideas to making friends and indulging in
cultural appreciation the uses of social media are infinite. It is because of this application of technology
that everyone gets a feeling of being a part of a global platform.

However, social media shows a lot of resemblance to a double-edged sword. For example at its best, social
media offers unprecedented opportunities for marginalized people to speak and bring much attention to
the issues they face. Again at its worst, social media also offers ‘everyone’ an unprecedented opportunity
to share collective outrage without reflection.

It is, therefore in our hands to use or misuse social media. Are we willing to make the best use of social
media by making it our servant and changing our lives for the better or do we let ourselves be absorbed by
an uncontrollable monster and ruin our lives?
The Importance of Education
“Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who are prepared for it.”

- Malcolm X

Education is that indispensable foundation that makes life prosperous, meaningful and paves the way for
development. It is the social institution through which society provides its members with important
knowledge, including basic facts, job skills and cultural norm values. It is that required entity that improves
personal lives and helps the society to run smoothly.

Education is the single entity that can bring about a sea change in a person’s life. It provides an impetus to
showcase our talents and makes our future bright by paving our roads to successful careers. This is
probably what the Father of our Nation felt when he said- “Live as you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if
you were to live forever.”

Education is a ray of light in darkness providing a hope for a better life. It is the basic right of every
individual on this planet. To deny this right is an evil as an uneducated youth is the single most harmful
element that can destroy our society.
