Maryam Mirzakhani was born on the 12nd of May,
1997, Teheran, Iran and died on 14th of July 2017,
California, United states. She was an Iranian
mathematic's teacher that studied at Stanford
University, England
 KATIA kraftt (page 97)
Catherine Joséphine Conrad (Katia krafft)
was born on the 17th of April of 1942 and her
death was on the 3rd of June of 1991 (Unzen,
Japan ). She was a volcanic scientific that
studied at the university of Strasbourg and
she discovered volcanoes like the Unzen
mount in Japan, the Stromboli in Italy etc.
Also, she discovered how to make
photographs and filming volcanic eruptions

her mother), Ahmad Mirzakhani
( He didn't have work and was
also her dad), Ali Mirzakhani
(He also didn't have work) and
Jan Vondrák ( Her husband is a
mathematics and IT teacher)

Katia lived only with his husband, Maurice
kraftt (1946 - 1991) who was also a
vulcanologist, also studied vulcanoes with
Katia and he went to the same places
(Japan, italy...) with her to study them.
They had known each other since they
entered to the same univeristy

When she was young, she had a
very difficult time because of
the Iran - Iraq war (1980 - 1988).
She was a person that if she
wanted to do something, she
made an effort and she could
do whatever she proposed. Her
dreams were travelling all
around the world and to
became the famous mayor of
her city

She studied vulcanology, physics and
geochemistry at the university because her
passion was to be one of the most important
vulcanologist in the world and that’s what
she had made.

Her greatest accompishments was
that she became the first Iranian
woman to win a gold medal at the
International Mathematical
Olympiad in Hong Kong and in the
following year, she also became
the first Iranian to achieve the full
score who won two gold medals in
the same contest.
