A. Learning Outcomes (Specific to the lesson mapped with NCERT learning outcomes):
Students will able to.
1. Creating awareness about the Anti-poverty measures adopted by the Government in India.
2. The condition of the underprivileged section of the society.
3. Sensitizing the learners about the inequalities existing in the society.
4. Identify below poverty line people in rural area and urban area.
5. Understand how unemployment, landlessness and chronic hunger are related with poverty.
6. Understand the problems of resource allocation and budgeting.
7. Identify different living conditions of people living below poverty line in rural area and urban area.
8. Identify causes of poverty of rural people and urban people.
9. Understand how inequitable distribution of assets and income and employment levels are linked to
poverty levels.

called poor.

B. DETAILS OF PEDAGOGICAL STRATEGIES/PROCESS

Random questioning, Brain storming questioning, in text questions will be discussed with students. At the
end discussion session will held.

The teacher will ask a few questions to introduce the chapter

What do you understand by the term Poverty?
C. TOPIC OF THE LESSON FOR PRESENTATION BY THE STUDENTS
(Once in a week by rearranging classroom setting suitable for group work):
Students will be divided into groups & each group has been given task.
Find rural case and urban case of poverty.
Global Poverty Scenario.
Evaluate measures to reduce poverty.
Find Anti-Poverty measures
D. NAME 21st CENTURY SKILLS TO BE DEVELOPED :
Students will work in group and discuss about Anti-Poverty measures adopted by the Government
in India
Student will know the Differentiate between absolute poverty and relative poverty.
E. ACTIVITIES/ EXPERIMENTS/HANDS-ON-LEARNING/PROJECTS:
The class is divided into suitable number of groups.
Each group is given the task of making a poverty alleviation plan for the colony/district/ village/
state.
The groups identify and analyses causes of people living below poverty line in their area.
