Please make a copy

go through them
Camera Framing
Close View

● Very close to the subject

● Only see small part of subject
● intimate feel
● These shots are artistically
motivated or may be for
medical/investigative purposes
Medium Shot

● Close to subject
● You can see ½ to ⅓ of subject
● Personal but not fully intimate
● Typical for school, etc.
Long Shot

● Full subject in view

● Less Personal
● An image like this shows the
environment around the subject and
gives it just as much importance
● An EXTREME long shot would show the
subject very small. Here the environment
is more important than the subject
Camera Point of View
High Shot (Bird’s Eye View)

● Camera is above the subject

● Proportion is distorted, higher
parts are emphasized
● Object/Person appears smaller
than viewer
Low Shot (Worm’s Eye View)

● Camera is below subject.

● Proportion is distorted, lower
parts are emphasized.
● Object appears intimidating
from viewer below
Reverse Shot (Over the Shoulder View)

● Camera is behind the subject

● Viewer is looking at what the
subject is looking at
● You get to see what they’re
seeing but you can’t see their
expression.
