ROYAL PALACE MUNCH MUSEUM

AND PALACE PARK

AKERSHUS
FORTRESS

AKER BRYGGE AND

OSLO CITY HALL VIGELAND PARK AND
THE VIGELAND MUSEU
We begin our excursion in Aker Brygge, a lively
seaside district full of restaurants, cafes and
shops. From here, we can admire the stunning
views of the Oslo Fjord. Right next door is Oslo
City Hall, a monumental building known for its
unique architecture and famous murals.

For those who love adventurous

experiences, you can rent kayaks or
bicycles, and go hiking on the nearby trails.
We walked eastward along the waterfront and
arrived at Akershus Fortress. This historical
fortress, dating back to the 13th century, provides
a fascinating insight into Norway's military history
and boasts impressive panoramic views of the city
and the fjord.
We continue our journey towards Vigeland Park, the
world's largest sculpture park created by a single artist,
Gustav Vigeland. Here, we marvel at over 200 bronze
and granite sculptures representing human life in all its
forms. Right next to the park is the Vigeland Museum,
where we can learn more about the life and work of the
famous sculptor.
We head towards the city center to visit the
Royal Palace of Oslo, the official residence of
the Norwegian royal family. We can witness the
changing of the guard and take a stroll through
the gorgeous gardens of the Palace Park.

The Changing of the Guard ceremony at the Royal

Palace is a must-see event. It takes place daily in
the summer and occasionally in winter,
showcasing Norway's vibrant Royal Guard with all
the pomp and ceremony you'd expect.
For art enthusiasts, a must-visit stop is the Munch
Museum, which houses the largest collection of works by
the famous Norwegian painter Edvard Munch, including
his masterpiece 'The Scream'.
