At the end of 50-minute discussion, the learners must be able to :

● Distinguish Homonyms in a sentence;

● Appreciate the importance of using Homonyms in a sentence to our daily


lives; and
● Create their own sentences using Homonyms.

C. PRESENTATION
“HOMONYMS”
Homonyms are words that share either the same spelling or pronunciation but
have different meanings.
For example,
1. "Bat" can refer to a flying mammal or a piece of sports equipment.
2. "Bow" can refer to a tied ribbon or the act of bending forward (same
pronunciation, different meanings).
3. “Clip” can refer to a video clip or a hair clip that a girl uses.
Lets use Homonyms in a sentence!

D. GENERALIZATION

● What are words that sound the same but have different
meanings?
● Can you give an example of a word that has two meanings and
sounds the same?
● If you hear the word "bat," how would you know if it means a
flying mammal or a sports equipment?
● Have you ever used a word and later found out it has another
meaning? Share your experience
● Can you think of a funny pick up lines using a word that is a
homonym?

E. APPLICATION
a. “PAIR WITH ME”
● Prepare flashcards with homonym pairs (e.g., "bat" for flying
mammals and sports equipment).
● Get the flashcards inside the box.
● Have students move around the room to find their homonym
pair by listening to others' descriptions or sentences.
● Once they find their partner, each pair needs to come up with a
sentence using their homonyms to share with the class.

GROUP 1: Create a slogan that shows the importance of using
homonyms in our daily lives.
GROUP2: If you are given a chance to create an advocacy
about homonyms what will it be.
