INDUSTRIAL CHALLENGE X INGENIOUS SUMMERCAMP 2024

OVERVIEW

Industrial Challenge x INGENIOUS Summer Camp 2024 carries the


theme "Accelerating Green Innovation to Achieve Sustainable Production
and Consumption". This activity is planned to last for 5 days with a total
activity duration of 87 hours which can be converted into 2 credits. Industrial
Challenge x INGENIOUS Summer Camp 2024 consists of three series of
competitions consisting of the Preliminary Stage, Road to Final, and Final.
The Preliminary Stage will be held online from the IE Fair website where there
will be multiple choice questions and case study about industrial
engineering knowledge. The 15 teams that qualify will proceed to the Road
to Grand Final stage which will be held offline in Surabaya.

The Road to Grand Final of the Industrial Challenge x INGENIOUS


Summer Camp 2024 will be held at the Industrial and Systems Engineering
Department within 5 days. For 5 days, 15 finalists will undergo an intensive
bootcamp and various non-competitive activities such as cultural night,
city tour, and gala dinner. On the 5th day there will be a final presentation of
the 15 finalists who have received cases from the previous company visit.
Prior to the presentation, the 15 finalists will be accompanied by their
respective mentors who are academics and practitioners. Through this
series of events, participants of the Industrial Challenge can help each other,
develop, and maximize their abilities in solving problems contained in
Industrial and Systems Engineering science by providing solutions to case
studies in relevant fields.
THEME

The theme "Accelerating Green Innovation to Achieve Sustainable


Production and Consumption" under SDG No. 12 (Responsible
consumption and production) emphasizes the urgent need to speed up
the development and adoption of environmentally friendly technologies
and practices throughout the product lifecycle. This involves integrating
green innovation in product design, manufacturing, consumption, and
disposal to ensure efficient resource use, minimize waste, and reduce
environmental impact. By accelerating green innovation, we can transition
more quickly to a sustainable economy, protect the environment, stimulate
economic growth, and promote social equity, aligning with the goals of
sustainable consumption and production.

PRIZES
The total prize pool is $1500 with the following details.
1. Champion : Trophy + $670
2. 1st Runner-Up : Trophy + $470
3. 2nd Runner-Up : Trophy + $355
PARTICIPANT ELIGIBILITY

● Participants are Undergraduate University Student from all major.


● Each team consists of three people and their membership in the team
could not be changed in the future for any particular reason.
● Each member of the team must be registered from the same
university
● Participants must pay the registration fee (IDR 200.000 or equivalent
to $13 for Early Price, IDR 300.000 or equivalent to $19 for Normal Price).
Participants who passed to the Road to Grand Final Stage will be
subject to an additional fee. Each university may send more than one
team to join the competition.
● Each individual is not allowed to be a member of two or more teams
REGISTRATION RULES
1. Create a team that consists of three people from the same university.
2. Participants open the website http://inchallsc.com and create an
account for participants. Set your account and the password, then log
in with the email and password that you have created.
3. Make the payment according to the amount that is stated to the
selected bank account or other payment methods that is listed in the
registration form.
4. To finalize the registration, wire transfer the money to:

5. After already transferred, please input the receipt of the payment to
the form. Receipts may be in the form of a screenshot of payment via

6. Enter your data and confirm if the data you have input is true. After
confirming, participants are unable to make changes.
7. The participant's card will be sent via email. If you haven’t received the
participants card for the period of 2x24 hours do contact +62 888-
0372-0191 (Bika) on Whatsapp or faisaazrn (Bika) on LINE.
8. Print and keep the participants card. Bring the participants card at the
time of the preliminary stage.
PRELIMINARY STAGE

Date : 24 - 26 June 2024


Place : Online (IE Fair website)
Time : June 24th (preliminary) and 25-26th (case study)
Participant : A team consists of three undergraduate industrial engineering
and other relevant fields students who have completed all registration
requirements and obtained the participant card.

In this year, the preliminary stage consists of two stages. Each team
consists of two or three people who will work on problems that occur within
the scope of industrial engineering science. This problem will be presented
in accordance with the theme that has been carried out. For detailed
explanations of this stage will be described as follows:

1) Preliminary
● Preliminary stage use https://www.inchallsc.com/ and
participants can access using email and password were
created during registration.
● Preliminary stage will present 50 questions with type of multiple
choice, checkbox, and short answer with an unspecified
proportion.
● The questions have several categories with different levels of
difficulty (easy, medium, hard).
● The time limit to answer all of the questions is 60 minutes and
only be accessed on June 24th, 2024. Participants are allowed
to choose the time they want as long as it is still on that day and
time range.
● This stage is a closed book and participants are allowed to use
a scientific calculator (not a mobile phone calculator).
● Each team is entitled to receive a certificate that will be
distributed after the entire series of these events is complete.

2) Case Study
● In this stage, case study will be presented with supporting data
in accordance with the theme that has been carried out.
● The time limit to completion of this stage is 2 days starting from
June 25th – 26th, 2024.
● The case study stage allows participants open-source, but only
credible sources should be used.
● The final outcome of the case study is a poster with solutions to
the given problem.

ROAD TO FINAL STAGE

Date : 29 July - 1 August 2024


Place : Industrial and Systems Engineering Department, ITS Surabaya.
Time : 07.00 – End (GMT +7)
Participant : 15 best teams from the preliminary stage.

Road to Grand Final stage will be held in 5 days, with the following details of
sub-stages.

1. Rush Hour
This stage will test the speed and accuracy of each team in answering
questions within the limited time. In the Rush Hour stage, each team is
required to complete 50 questions in the form of multiple choice,
checkbox, and short answer in 30 minutes. All of the questions are
related to the general theme of INCHALL 2024 with a more difficult level
of questions.

2. Lab Venture
Participants will be given the opportunity to directly experience
several practical exercises in Industrial and Systems Engineering
according to the specific knowledge of each laboratory. In this stage,
participants will also be given the experience of solving problems and
questions from each laboratory. The Lab Venture will begin with a
plenary session. The plenary is a seminar and explanation related to
the sub-theme that is related to the main theme of INCHALL 2024.

3. Plenary
Plenary stage is an activity where participants get an inclusive
bootcamp which contains exposure to 5 important branches of
systems and industrial engineering, which are System and
Manufacture Laboratory, Ergonomy and Work System Design
Laboratory, Logistic and Supply Chain Management Laboratory,
Quantitative Modelling and Industrial Policy Analysis Laboratory, and
Industrial System Design and Management Laboratory. This material
presentation was delivered by speakers who are experts in their fields.
The plenary stage aims to prepare participants for the next stage.

4. Company Visit
All the semifinalists will have the opportunity to explore associated
companies. The primary objective of this stage is to facilitate
comprehension of the business processes inherent to the presenting
companies. Moreover, it seeks to impart experiential knowledge
regarding the applicability of Industrial and Systems Engineering
within the workforce. Subsequent to these visits, each team will
undertake case studies pertinent to the overarching theme of INCHALL
2024.

5. City Stroll: Exploring Surabaya


“City Stroll: Exploring Surabaya” is an informal activity designed to
familiarize Industrial Challenge X INGENIOUS Summer Camp 2024
participants with the city of Surabaya. Participants will have the
opportunity to visit historical sites throughout Surabaya and get to
know Indonesian culture.

6. Gala Dinner
The Gala Dinner represents the culminating event of the Industrial
Challenge X INGENIOUS Summer Camp 2024, serving as the pinnacle
of the event. This distinguished occasion is dedicated to honoring the
winners of the competition and will be graced by the presence of all
participants, committees, stakeholders from DTSI, and esteemed
representatives from the collaborating companies of the Industrial
Challenge X INGENIOUS Summer Camp 2024. The Gala Dinner is will be
held at the end of the session, alongside the Final round. It provides a
formal atmosphere for celebrating and acknowledging
achievements.
FINAL STAGE

Date : 2 August 2024


Place : Industrial and Systems Engineering Department, ITS Surabaya.
Time : 07.00 – End (GMT +7)
Participant : 15 best teams from the Road to Final stage.

In the Grand Final round of INCHALL 2024 with the theme of


"Accelerating Green Innovation to Achieve Sustainable Production and
Consumption", participants will be required to work on a business case and
come up with innovative solutions related to the problems or cases
presented by the committee and case collaborator. The output of this final
round will be a presentation of their innovative solutions. The participants
will take turns presenting to a panel of judges consisting of Industrial and
System Engineering professors and Case Collaborators from partner
companies.
