RBD PALM OIL SPECIFICATION

1. GENERAL
a. The material shall be obtained from the fleshy mesocarp of the fruit of the
oil palm (Elaeis guineensis) tree by the process of expression or by method
of solvent extraction.

b. Refined, bleached and deodorised palm oil is obtained form raw palm oil
after subjecting the oil to the processes of neutralisation with alkali,
bleaching with fuller’s Earth or activated carbon or both and lastly by steam
deoderisation under vaccum.
c. The material shall be clear on melting and free from adulterants,
organoleptic rancidity, sediment, suspended and other foreign matter,
separated water, added colouring and flavouring substances and shall have
acceptable taste and odour.
d. Light reddish yellow in colour.

3. PACKING
