Things that I learned while doing the exercises and assignment:
To practice taking notes correctly, I started with an exercise of taking notes. I did this by studying different types of notebooks, note-taking
techniques and kinds of cues. Time management was something else that I learnt about which has really helped me in controlling my time
effectively. All these became possible after the introduction to Excel, hence having skills ranging from entry level to advanced topics. Now that I
know all the new choices and shortcuts, I can easily create any Excel file. This makes it easy for me to work on several sheets within excel
thereby making it more productive and efficient for me moving through those sheets becomes quite easy for me as a result of my
understanding on how to use excel My understanding on how to use excel improves greatly when it comes using tabs within the document.
Because of this activity, now my way towards achieving my objectives is visible before my eyes. In this paper I described what am doing
currently, what are my goals and finally what steps should be taken so as to get there. At times in life there are certain restrictions or limits
which hinder one from progressing forward; some of such boundaries have been discussed in the essay above What will help me succeed in
your quest for your goal(s) is knowing ways of managing and overcoming the challenges that come along with them including: For instance,
during a project we made an organizational chart that shows departments’ hierarchical structure at a resort as this is crucial for its smooth
running On top of these, each department head prepares direct reports for the resort’s manager as a means through which he/she ensures
smooth coordination and administration of resort operations. Scope development assignment helps one to establish clear goals, delineate
project boundaries and manage tasks order. This way you can work with stakeholders to get into risks controlling even if it means using up
some of the money in the budget for additional surveillance devices for example CCTV cameras or alarm systems as well as other contingencies
necessary for safety purposes. As such planning skills are enhanced as well as effective communication techniques that guarantee success in
future projects. Developing presentation using Power Point software will help you to acquire vital skills like organizing information properly,
designing engaging slides and use images appropriately in presentations. This would ensure logical arrangement of your ideas while maintaining
interest of your audience when delivering a speech on any given topic. Microsoft Word teaches students how to create different types of
documents such essays, reports and letters; format such documents so they are readable and attractive by changing fonts styles and layouts
accordingly. In Word, creating a page exercise acquaints me with document formatting through adjusting its layout, setting margins and
orientation for professional look. To do this I have to know how to edit text styles conveniently inserting elements like pictures or tables along
with headers/footers.

Below are the exercises and assignment I have completed based on the instructions:
Note Taking

What Method interested you the most and you would like to review?
Ans 1- The method interested me the most and I would like to review is the sentence method because it makes notes easier to understand
and read. Also, it is more organized and gives the clarity of the topic thoroughly.

1. Do you have any distractions in your space, right now?

Ans 2- Yes, the distractions in my surrounding, right now is my cellphone along with my friend who is eating. So, I think phone and the
person who is sitting next to me and involved in different work are the major two distraction for me.

2. What type and kind of cues did you notice during this lecture?
Ans 3- There are two types of cues that are mention during the lecture first one is visual cues and the second is verbal cues. These cues help
us to know the important content and remember the topic for long time and make lecture effective.

3. What kind of notebook are you currently using?

Ans 4- Right now I am using the ‘College Ruled’ notebook to take notes as it is easy to write on it as compare to Quad or Gregg. I like to
take notes in sentences so it is very comfortable for me to write on the College ruled as I can make point easily with good spacing.

4. Did you read the “Time Management” file?

Ans 5- Yes, I had read the time management and gain some knowledge that how we can value our time and also help
us to build new skills that help to build a good career.

Exercise-2
Introduction to word
Let’s work with an example that we all can relate to.

You are going to have a dinner for 5 of your friends. The dinner will be a special occasion
and you want to prepare an excellent meal. Your guests include 2 vegetarians, 1 vegan
and 1 does not like spicey foods.

You must create a menu, purchase, and prepare the food for a dinner that includes at least
one starter, one main course and two desserts. You can create more dishes if you choose to.

Ans- Yes, I have planned my menu, which is Indian cuisine, for the dinner of five guests. For the
starter, I have decided to serve stuffed mushrooms because mushrooms are a rich source of
nutrients and are vegan-friendly. For the main course, I think Chana Masala with rice and
traditional Indian naan would be the best to serve. And for dessert, to sweeten the whole
atmosphere, Jalebi and Gulab Jamuns are the best options. I believe this is a well-planned
menu to serve the guests.
What other things must you consider for this to be a success?

Ans- In order to make a dinner successful, guest comfort and presentation play key roles.
Making the guests comfortable and paying attention to the presentation of dishes make the
dinner more special. Additionally, beverage pairing with the dishes is also important.

Prepare a list of all the things that you need to do for this

dinner. Ans-

1. Menu Planning-
• Starter

Stuffed Mushrooms:
A delicious mixture of spinach, red bell pepper, and garlic that has been seasoned
with salt, pepper, and a tiny bit of olive oil.

• Main Course

Chana Masala:
A fragrant symphony of aromatic spices, such as turmeric, coriander, and cumin,
envelops tender chickpeas.

Rice and Traditional Naan:

Perfect steamed Basmati Rice and Soft Indian Traditional Bread.

• Dessert:

Jalebi: This provides a sweet rush with each bite.

Gulam Jamun: Treat that melt in mouth and left the sweetness of culinary
masterpiece.

2. Grocery Shopping:
Produce: Fresh mushrooms, onions, tomatoes, ginger, garlic, green chilies,
cilantro, and lemon are required to flavor the Chana Masala and stuffed
mushrooms.

Dry ingredients for the Chana Masala are chickpeas (dry or canned), basmati rice,
and naan bread. All-purpose flour, semolina, sugar, and baking powder are required
to make Jalebi and Gulab Jamun.

Spices: Cumin seeds, coriander powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, red chili
powder, whole cloves, cinnamon sticks, and bay leaves are required to enhance the
taste and depth of the Chana Masala and filled mushrooms.

Ghee or oil for cooking, milk for preparing Gulab Jamun dough, and yogurt to
marinate mushrooms and serve with Chana Masala.

Others: Cooking oil for frying Jalebi and Gulab Jamun, rose water to enhance Gulab.

3. Meal Preparation:
Prepare Indian feast by soaking dry chickpeas overnight, then cleaning and
chopping veggies such as mushrooms, onions, tomatoes, ginger, garlic, green
chilies, and cilantro. Begin by sautéing onions, ginger, and garlic until golden
brown, then add spices like cumin seeds, coriander powder, turmeric, garam
masala, and red chili powder, followed by chopped tomatoes and cooked
chickpeas for the Chana Masala. Meanwhile, marinade the mushrooms in yogurt
and spices before filling them and baking until soft. Cook basmati rice, warm naan
bread, then fry Jalebi and Gulab Jamun by making circular shapes of Jalebi batter in
hot oil, frying until golden and crisp, then soaking in sugar syrup, and shaping and
frying Gulab Jamun.

4. Setting of Atmosphere:
Arrangement of the dining table and ensure that seats are comfortable.

5. Communication:
Keep friendly communication with guest to create good environment.

What do you consider to be inside the scope of the project and what is outside the scope?
(How did you decide this?)

Ans- The dinner project's scope includes all necessary steps to guarantee a successful and
pleasurable supper for visitors, including creating the menu, grocery shopping, preparing
the food, and setting the dining room. It involves, among other things, good guest
communication, dietary preferences, and allergies. Beyond dietary limitations, individual
taste preferences, ancillary chores like furniture rearrangement, outside influences, and
event preparation are outside the defined project scope. This differentiation was done in
order to keep the immediate objective of serving one delicious dinner that takes into
account the dietary requirements of the guests front and center. he original description and
specifications were used to determine what is and is not within the scope of the meal
project. During the decision-making process, the project's specific goals like cooking a
special supper for a group of friends with different food preferences were taken into
account.
TASKS SUMMARY
What did you discover as you went through this exercise?

Ans- First and foremost, careful preparation is necessary to guarantee the success of a dinner
gathering, especially when taking into account a variety of dietary requirements. Important
actions include planning a thorough meal, taking into account dietary restrictions, and informing
guests ahead of time. Additionally, keeping focus and avoiding needless complexity depend on
being able to distinguish between what is inside and beyond the scope.

Was it hard to stay to the original scope of the project?

Ans- No, it wasn't difficult to stick to the original plan because the objectives and responsibilities
of the project were centered upon preparing a particular supper for friends who had dietary
restrictions.

Was it easy to define what the scope truly was?

Ans- Yes, it was simple to define the scope because the project's initial goals were to throw a
dinner with particular dietary requirements.

What things did you add that were not in the original description?

Ans- I didn't add anything to the original description in the example provided. The extra thought and
work came from the objectives of preparing a supper for guests who had particular dietary
requirements. The main goal was to avoid adding unrelated elements while adhering to the
specified scope.

Can you see how this type of exercise could be applied to everyday life?

Ans- Yes, by establishing specific objectives and planning activities, this practice makes life
easier and more productive

What examples can you think of where this process might be useful in defining the work that needs
to be done?

Ans- Considering this procedure as the creation of a basic plan. It's helpful for a variety of tasks,
such as organizing events, working on projects, and making repairs to your house. Having a
well-defined plan increases the likelihood of success and eases the process of achieving
personal objectives or trips. It functions similarly to a road plan for several aspects of life.

Samsung S24 and S24 Plus review

What impresses me the most about the Samsung Galaxy S24 and S24 Plus isn't the new Galaxy
AI features, brighter screens or solid cameras. It's the battery life. I've been reviewing phones
for seven years, and I've learned that if a company wants people to be eager about buying a
new phone, either make the battery last longer or lower the price. That's it.

Figure 1 Samsung S24 and S24 Plus (Martin, 2024)

After a week of testing, I can say the larger batteries in the Galaxy S24 and S24 Plus have no trouble
plowing through a long day of use on a single charge. The S24 Plus in particular made it two days.

While Samsung didn't lower the S24 and S24 Plus' prices, it did raise the barrier of entry for the
Galaxy S24 Ultra to $1,300. That makes the $1,000 Galaxy S24 Plus, which has almost
everything the Ultra does, shine brighter. The S24 Plus isn't a replacement for the S24 Ultra, but
it's a far better value for the price. Nor is the Plus just a bigger version of the $800 Galaxy S24,
giving it an awkward aura that any middle child can relate to.

During my time with the S24 and S24 Plus, I had a group chat in three different languages
(English, French and Spanish), took photos to Monty Python-levels of ridiculous with new editing
tools, played video games and participated in a Zoom video call for work. (Hey, it's not all
glamorous reviewing a phone.) Most of these experiences weren't unique or new, but the
emphasis Samsung placed on the new AI features is actually significant, even if the true payoff
is years down the line. (Holland, 2024)

iPhone15 and iPhone 15 Plus

A month of testing proved that Apple's standard iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus bear more "Pro"
features than ever before, including a Dynamic Island for more seamless multitasking, a 48MP
camera system that
-- when paired with the A16 Bionic chip -- consistently produces eye-catching imagery, and a
new satin- finished design that left me with no envy for the more expensive iPhone models.

If you don't see yourself shooting videos in ProRAW, requiring the extra Action button, or
drooling over the 5X zoom camera on the iPhone 15 Pro Max, you'll be plenty comfortable with
the $799 iPhone 15 and
$899 iPhone 15 Plus. Between the two, buy the former if you want one of the most compact (yet
capable) handsets on the market, and buy the latter if you want a more affordable big-screen
iPhone and the best battery life of all the models this year. (Wan, 2023)

Google Pixel 8 Pro

If that seems anticlimactic, it's rather fitting, as it matches my own impressions of the Pixel 8 Pro.
The Pixel 7 Pro and Pixel 6 Pro were superb phones, offering solid all-round performance and
great cameras. I awarded both handsets a coveted CNET Editors' Choice award.

As a result, I was excited for the Pixel 8 Pro and had high hopes for Google's next-generation
handset. But having spent a long time with it, I'm left feeling underwhelmed. It's not that
there's anything glaringly wrong with the phone (excluding some of the camera issues I found,
which I'll explain later), it's that it doesn't especially stand out in any major way. Its battery life is
average, the processor performance is only OK, and I prefer the design of the previous model If
that seems anticlimactic, it's rather fitting, as it matches my own impressions of the Pixel 8 Pro.

Exercise-5
Description of Goal

ACAD 6003-24W

Description of a Goal
NOTE: This exercise is individual

We are going to expand the application of a scope and apply it to the remaining work
that needs to be completed for this semester.

We are going to do this for this course only (ACAD 6003-22F).

What would a successful semester look like and remember to be specific in your
answer. The details are very important:

➢ What grades do you want to have?

A successful semester means doing well in class and learning new things that will help in
the future. For ACAD-6003-24W, I want to achieve a good grade by properly
understanding the material taught by our professor. To achieve this, I need to focus in
class and maintain consistency.

➢ What is the work that needs to be completed?

Getting good marks requires submitting assignments and completing daily

exercises with my own understanding and knowledge. Halfway through the
semester, I've gained a solid understanding of Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.

➢ What are you going to need to get this done?

Attending classes regularly is crucial because missing them means missing out on
important concepts. Study materials are essential, along with self-discipline and time
management skills.

➢ Are their limitations or constraints to achieving these goals?

Initially, I was unfamiliar with how to submit assignments and navigate the online
platform, but now I am fully comfortable with these processes. Balancing studies
with other commitments are also important.
➢ Are there things outside of schoolwork that could affect your goal?

One challenge in Canada is the weather, especially for international students like
myself. However, after nearly two months here, I've adapted to the temperature and
it no longer affects me as much.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Student’s Name: Nikhil Thakur

Student’s I.D.: 1216325

Professor’s Name: Labbé Gaétan

Course Start Date: 2 January 2024

Course Completion Date: 12 April 2024

SCOPE DESCRIPTION

Scope Statement:

First and the foremost thing I have done after landing in Canada is taking my study permit as it is very imperative
to get a study permit. After that my friend drop me at my residence and the next morning, I visited college and
took my FAN card and on the same day I got my SIN (Social Insurance number) from the Service Ontario, my
work to-do list at that time was taking SIM number so got the new sim and activated my GIC account. On my
fourth day I appeared in G1 driving test exam and passed it in first attempt and right now I am preparing for the
G driving test exam So, I think these are some works that need to be done.

CRITERIA FOR ACCEPTANCE

Acceptance Criteria:

Firstly, I applied for a passport in mid-2022, as I was planning to take my IELTS test in 2023. It is
essential to have a COVID vaccine to appear in the test, so I had already taken my first dose of
Covishield vaccine on 06-21-2021 and the second dose on 09-14-2021. I brought the vaccine certificate
with me to the exam. I successfully passed the International English Language Testing System (IELTS)
test with an overall score of 7 bands. Due to my proficiency in English, I found the test easy to crack.
After clearing the exam, I applied for the Fanshawe offer letter. I chose this college for its high
employment rate and excellent infrastructure. Upon receiving the "Acceptance Letter" from
Fanshawe, I arranged the finances to pay the one-year cost of the college and gathered all the
necessary documents for visa application. I got visa stamped in my passport on 27/06/2023.
I was Excited about my upcoming journey; I started my preparations by shopping for new clothes and
essential stationery items. I packed notebooks, pens, and most importantly, a waterproof backpack.
Then, I booked my flight through an agent, who provided both a hard copy and a soft copy of the
ticket on 10-17-2023.
On the day of the flight, I traveled to the International Airport, which is approximately 379 km away
from my city, by car along with my family members. The journey took nearly 9 hours. I completed all
the necessary check- ins at the airport. The flight was with Lufthansa from Delhi to Frankfurt and
codeshare with Air Canada from Frankfurt to Toronto. Personally, I was pleased with the service
provided by Air Canada.
DELIVERABLES

Deliverables:

To acquire my post-graduate work permit, I must first complete my 2-year post-graduate diploma. To fulfill the
requirements for completion, I need to successfully pass every course in each semester, which involves
submitting assignments and passing regular tests and quizzes. Additionally, I am required to submit projects for
certain courses, accompanied by presentations.

EXCLUSIONS

Constraints:

I completed all the necessary steps before the start of the semester. It was mandatory to pay the one-year fees
to join this course, so I fulfilled that requirement. Additionally, I deposited funds into my GIC Scotiabank account
to cover basic living expenses. I also ensured that I received both doses of the COVID vaccine, as it is imperative.
Most importantly, I filled out the International Student Form (ISF) to provide my status to the college.

COORDINATION

I took my flight from Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi, and landed at Frankfurt had a 2-hour layover
there. At Frankfurt my flight was changed from Lufthansa to Air Canada, and I landed at Toronto Pearson
International Airport on 12-19-2023 The airport experience was smooth, thanks to the availability of free Wi-Fi.
This proved helpful as I could use the Wi-Fi to call my friends and family, sharing my location with a friend
named Abhishek who had arrived before me. Abhishek welcomed me, and both of us were very happy as we
meet each other after long time. We then had dinner together, and after that, he dropped me off at my
residence in London in his car. As I have a lot of friends in Canada, it was very easy for me to find
accommodation in London. So, I called one of my friends who is already living in Canada to help me secure
accommodation with him. Because of the FAN card, it is easy to travel in London as it cuts our bus expenses.
However, I chose my accommodation nearer to the college so that I could save my time and use it to learn new
skills. The orientation day came it was excellent. I enrolled myself in various sports activities such as the gym and
swimming. I also learned about the college policies regarding courses and interacted with some of my
classmates. I also met the Registrar on the day of Orientation and asked him my doubt related to semester
break and student services and also came to know that college have in campus placement area. On the next day
of Orientation there was a first class of my semester one, I was on time because I downloaded my timetable
from the web advisor, which helped me know the timing and the room of the class. And also, my friend taught
me how to track the bus, so I took the bus accordingly and arrived on time.
