(1) Manual Operation


To operate the pressure control and monitoring system manually, you must:
- push the MODE SEL pushbutton-switch 14HL (the MAN light comes on),
- lift the guard and set the MAN VALVE SEL toggle-switch 8HL to operate the app
licable outflow valve(s) (AFT, BOTH or FWD),
- push the MAN V/S CTL toggle-switch 5HL to the UP position to decrease the pr
essure in the fuselage or,
- push the MAN V/S CTL toggle-switch to the DN position to increase the pressur
e in the fuselage.
To stop the manual operation you must push the MODE SEL pushbutton-switch 14HL,
the subsequent occurs:
- the MAN light in the MODE SEL pushbutton-switch 14HL goes off,
- the cabin pressure controller that operated before manual operation was select
ed, becomes the standby,
- the pressure controller that was the standby, operates.
You can use these steps to change the cabin pressure controller which operates durin
g the flight.

NOTE: If only one outflow valve is set (FWD or AFT) the cabin pressure controller in
operation controls the second outflow valve automatically.

(2) Ditching Operation


If you lift the guard and push the DITCHING pushbutton-switch 13HL:
- the ON light comes on,
- both outflow valves 313HL and 315HL close fully,
- the flow control valves 511HB and 512HB close,
- the overboard extract valve avionic vent 12HQ and 13HQ close.
This is done quickly and independently of the pressure in the fuselage or the rat
e of pressure change. When you push the DITCHING pushbutton-switch 13HL to
cancel the ditching operation, the ON light goes off. The cabin pressure controlle
r that operated before, continues to operate in normal mode. No system perfor
mance tests are available during the ditching operation or for a short time after.
It is possible to operate the DITCHING pushbutton-switch 13HL on the ground.

(3) Emergency Ram-Air Operation


If you operate the emergency ram-air inlet Ref. AMM D/O 21-55-00-00 the two outflo
w valves 313HL and 315HL open to 50 % with maximum speed. This is done indepen
dently of the actual cabin altitudes and cabin altitude rates if the actual differential pr
essure is less than 0.070 bar (1.0153 psi). When you cancel the emergency ram-air-i
nlet operation Ref. AMM D/O 21-55-00-00, the cabin pressure controller that operated

before continues to operate in normal mode. No system performance tests are availa
ble during the emergency ram-air operation or for a short time after.

(4) Cabin-Pressure Switch Operation


If the pressure in the fuselage decreases to the atmospheric pressure equivalent to 1
4550 -450 ft. or +450 ft. (4434.76 -137.16 m or +137.16 m), the pressure switch in
the outflow valve actuator 313HL1 (315HL1) or 313HL2 (315HL2) operates. It closes
the applicable outflow valve 313HL (315HL). When the pressure in the fuselage increa
ses to more than the pressure at 14550 ft. (4434.76 m), the pressure switch operatio
n is stopped. The cabin pressure controller that operated before continues to operate.
No system performance tests are available during the pressure switch operation or for
a short time after.
