KAYNAŞTIRMA KURALI (Yardımcı Ünsüz Harf)
Türkçede iki ünlü harf yan yana gelmez. Ünlü harfle
biten bir kelimeye ünlü harfle başlayan bir ek
geldiğinde araya kaynaştırma harfi girer.
Kaynaştırma harfini yardımcı(asistan) harf olarak
düşünebilirsiniz.
Türkçede 3 tane yardımcı ünsüz harf vardır
Bunlar –y,-ş -s ve –n harfleridir. –s ve –n harfleri iyelik
(aitlik) ekleri ve isim tamlamalarında kullanılır.
Diğer bütün durumlarda –y harfi kullanılır. –y harfi
Türkçenin temel kaynaştırma harfidir. -ş kaynaştırma
harfi fazla kullanılmayan bir kaynaştırma harfidir.
-y harfi ile ilgi örnekleri inceleyelim:
“Öğrenci- -im” değil “Öğrenci-y-im”. İki ünlü harf yan
yana gelmez. Araya –y ünsüz harfi gelir.
Ben, mutlu-y-um.
Ben, anne-y-im.
Biz, hasta-y-ız.
Biz, akıllı-y-ız.
Ben, araba-y-a biniyorum.
Sen, kütüphane-y-e gidiyorsun.
Ben, oyna-ma-y-acak mı-y-ım?

BUFFER LETTER RULE (Auxiliary Consonant)
In Turkish, two vowels don’t come side by side. When
an affix starting with a vowel is added to a word that
ends with a vowel, a buffer letter comes between
them.
You can think buffer letter as an auxiliary (assistant)
letter.
In Turkish, there are three auxiliary consonants.
These are the letters –y,-ş -s and –n. The letters –s
and –n are used in possesive suffixes and noun
clauses.
In all other cases, -y letter is used. Letter –y is the
fundamental buffer letter in Turkish language. –ş
buffer letter isn’t used frequently.
Let’s have a look at the examples about letter –y:
It is not “Öğrenci- -im” (I am a student), it is Öğrenci-
y-im” (I am a student). Two vowels aren’t used side
by side. –y letter comes between them.
I am happy.
I am a mother.
We are ill.
We are smart.
I am getting in the car.
You are going to the library.
Am I not going to play?

suffixes:
Possesive suffixes belonged to “o” (he/she/it) and
“onlar” (they) are generally used with the buffer letter
O ve onlar şahsına ait iyelik eki genellikle –s –s.
kaynaştırma harfi ile kullanılır.
Örneğin: For example:
“Onun araba-s-ı geldi.”, Their car came.
“Onların ülke-s-i çok güzel.” Their country is very beautiful.
“Onun ütü-s-ü yeni.” His/her iron is new.
“Onların ayakkabı-s-ı siyah.” Their shoes are black.
“Onun radyo-s-u açık.” His/her radio is on.
O ve onlar şahsına ait iyelik eklerinden sonra gelen The affixes that comes after the possesive suffixes

Örneğin: For example:

“Onların ülke-s-i-n-e gittim.” I went to their country.
“Onun ütü-s-ü-n-ü kırdım.” I broke her/his iron.
“Onların ayakkabı-s-ı-n-a bak!” Look at their shoes!
“Onun radyo-s-u-n-a bak!” Look at his/her radio!
“Onun ev-i-n-i gördün mü? Have you seen her/his house?
“Onun arkadaş-ı-n-a söyle!” Tell her/his friend!
“Onların arkadaşlar-ı-n-ı da davet ettim.” I invited their friends too.
“Onların kapı-s-ı-n-da bekliyorum.” I am waiting at their door.

İsim tamlamalarında 2. isme gelen diğer ekler In noun clauses, other suffixes that are added to the
genellikle –n kaynaştırma harfi ile kullanılır. second noun are generally used with the buffer letter
–n.
