In celebration of Independence Day, ISB Event Team - a local ISB Club has organized a Blood Donation
Camp on campus in association with the Red Cross Association.
Blood donation is one of the most honorable contributions that an individual can make to
society. For adults, not only is donating blood not harmful but it is beneficial as blood donation
facilitates new blood cell production and reduces risks of heart attack, certain types of cancer,
etc. Moreover, the body can naturally regenerate the missing blood within a few days; as such,
blood donation does not affect our metabolism.
The Blood Donation Camp was held on September 4 , starting at 9 AM and ending at 3 PM. With
th
encouraging responses from both students and faculty, the event saw wholehearted contributions
throughout the day.
Even before the event started, donors were already filling up the campus grounds. Students were
excitedly chatting with each other in the waiting room, happy to be able to contribute to lending a
helping hand to people in the region. One of the rooms was used for a complete medical check-up of
potential donors, as well as the donation itself, while there was another hall where donors could lie
down, receive some refreshments, and recuperate for a while before leaving. After the donation, the
samples were properly collected, sealed, and transported away. A team of 30 doctors and nurses
worked tirelessly to bring success to this noble work.
There were smiles and laughter all around throughout the day - a genuine reflection of what we believe
in - selfless service with happiness. The donors received appreciation certificates and cards of
recognition for their noble gestures. All in all, the event was highly acclaimed and considered to be a
resounding success.
