A. DEFINE POSITIVE AND B. EXPLAIN POSITIVE AND C. WRITE AN ESSAY ABOUT YOUR
NEGATIVE EMOTIONS; NEGATIVE EMOTIONS USING UNDERSTANDING OF POSITIVE
REAL LIFE EXPERIENCES; AND AND NEGATIVE EMOTIONS.
POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE EMOTIONS
WHAT DO WE MEAN BY THAT?
 an emotional reaction designed to
express a positive affect, such as
happiness when one attains a goal,
POSITIVE
relief when a danger has been avoided,
EMOTIONS or contentment when one is satisfied
with the present state of affairs.
(American Psychological Association)
ARE NEGATIVE
EMOTIONS
NECESSARY?
 Negative emotions give us a
counterpoint to positive emotions;
without the negative ones, positive
emotions may not be entirely
NEGATIVE experienced.
EMOTIONS  Negative emotions serve evolutionary
purposes, encouraging us to act in
ways that boost our chances of
survival and help us grow and develop
as people.
