Being a dedicated student, I am expressing my sincere desire to be admitted into the University

of New Haven, to acquire the skills in computer science at the master's level. The process of

studying at the university and all the professional tasks I executed as a Full Stack Developer

made me realize how important researches and innovations are in my life, which directs me to

this next part of intellectual progress at this highly prominent institute.

Computers have been one of my most fantastic attractions since I was in high school, where I

first learned to paint in MS-Paint, playing GTA Vice City and COD games. Then, I became more

curious about it and tried to be an expert in accessing the world through the internet, solving

my daily real-life problems using search engines like Google, Bing, etc., and that was the first

time when I also developed my technical skills, i.e., learned HTML, CSS & JavaScript in notepad.

Then, I learned some essentials to advance computer hardware technical skills like chip level,

and now I can repair my desktop and laptop easily. Hence, I have realized that this study area

has much potential for developing whole industries with the help of its innovative power. As I

grew up and spent an entire career as a developer & enthusiastic learner, I was deeply engaged

in building, introspecting, creating, designing, and destructing experiences.

During my studies, I gained a more profound knowledge of computer science. My front-end

developer internship, hackathon event of 48 hours where I got second position, and networking

boot camp of 7 days at my bachelor's level helped me acquire different skills, ranging from

programming languages, system designs, and software to network architecture, which gave me

plenty of experience developing my professional skills, too.

One of the defining moments of my academic journey occurred during my undergraduate

studies in a research module focusing on regression techniques using linear and logistic models

in the topic “COVID-19 detection using regression model”. It took me deep within algorithms,

data structures, and software engineering concepts such as sorting algorithms, e.g. insertion

sort, bubble sort etc., graph theory, dynamic programming, and object-oriented programming.

As part of this project, I was passionately concerned with data collection from Kaggle, google

data set & GitHub as well, employing advanced research techniques and methodologies to

investigate machine learning frameworks such as scikit-learn to solve specific research problems

where I had to justify my research objective to detect the symptoms of COVID-19 in different

regions.

While building my knowledge and strengths in researching, dataset collecting, analyzing &

filtering, and focusing, there are some weaknesses built within me. One aspect I have identified

as I might come as detail-oriented, that helps to get into micro details of everything I encounter.

But sometimes it created an issue, for instance, once my advisor asked to write a paper in

spamming detection with NLP & deep learning, but I couldn’t complete within a given deadline

however I have learned so much from it since I looked for the quality only as much as time

provided to me to.

Ultimately, the University of New Haven has caught my eye due to its cutting-edge research

activities from different fields of study like Fake News Detection and Countering Human

Trafficking under the Data Science research areas. It’s one of the core emerging issues in the

current world specially in our country Nepal. If I can collaborate and get more in-depth research

into this, then it might help me to wipe out this problem from the root. That’s why I am
enthusiastic about working with professors and classmates in research and learning, devoting

myself to novel discoveries, and overcoming new frontiers of discoveries in the field. I honestly

believe that my academic qualifications, professional experience as well and my fervor for

research and innovation, are position to strengthen my position to be placed in your prestigious

institute, and therefore I look forward to beginning the next stage in my journey of intellectual

progress and discovery at University of New Haven.

Hence, I am determined to pursue my graduate study at the University of New Haven to widen

the scope of my knowledge, improve my research capabilities, and contribute to computer

science field more broadly. Looking forward, I am certain that my academic history, knowledge

and skills in a research field as well as my zeal towards innovations fully qualify me for your

scholarship and research assistantship. I am waiting for the shift that will take me to new

heights of knowledge and personal maturity, and I am already anticipating my contribution to
