Our Robot Our robot is a fully controllable humanoid robot. It has ability to perform many different poses like sitting ,walking etc . It can be customized to your needs and it can be your pastime pet . A humanoid robot is basically a human like robot . It is a 9 D.O.F robot (9 degree of freedom) since it can move in any 9 directions Microcontroller
The microcontroller we are using for this model
is called a customized 9 D.O.F Arduino . The microcontroller in this case is broadly divided into 2 parts 1) Part which inserts the code 2) The main controlling unit where the chip is also placed called the AtMega328p. In this Arduino the connection get easier and this is a very strong microcontroller. Servo motors • Servo motors used in our project consists of more torque as well as speed , the servo motors are used for precisional movements as it has only angular motion. • But in case of DC motor there is only rotating for amount of time you supply energy or electricity. • Means you have to define in your code to Arduino for sending electricity to motors for 5 seconds , but after the Arduino stops , there are again a few more extra rounds taken by the motor due to inertia of motion. • But in angular motion it moves precisely for a particular degrees for particular amount of time. Advantages • Humanoid robots can perform any task a human being can, so long as they have the proper software, Although they look realistic, they have no cognition or physical autonomy, They can be used for future dangerous & distant space exploration missions, They can serve as companions & assistants for humans in daily life, they can be used as ultimate helpers in man-made & natural disasters. • A great development in science & technology leads to advanced humanoid mechatronic systems that are rich in complex sensorimotor capabilities, It is an emerging & challenging research field, that has received great attention during the past years and will continue to play a central role in robotics research. Disadvantages • The advanced humanoid robots will be able to complete a variety of tasks, but they cost a lot of money, For middle- class & low-income families, It is a high expense that many people can’t afford, The price of humanoid robots is high enough that everyone can’t own one, one of the common problems tackled in the humanoid robotics is the understanding of the human-like information processing and the underlying mechanisms of the human brain in dealing with the real world. • If you have these robots doing these everyday jobs for you, You will become too dependent on robots, If you have robots that will take out the trash, do the dishes, cook the food, and watch the children, You will become lazy, and dependent if you have such robots doing your chores for you, This is another downfall of the evolving “humanoid robot.” Circuit Diagram @Gopalan National School
