It gives me pleasure to write this letter of recommendation for Jessica Ma. I have had the
privilege of collaborating with her for the past four years as the El Capitan High School Leo Club
Advisor.

During this time, Jessica has demonstrated the highest level of commitment to the principles of
the Lions International service mission. As an active member of the El Capitan High School Leo
Club she has distinguished herself as an effective leader and a “super volunteer.”

As Club Secretary (2022-23), she helped the club membership grow by almost twenty percent.
This allowed the club to increase its scope of service to the community and led to receiving the
Leo Club Excellence Award, the highest distinction attainable by a Lion sponsored youth club.

Jessica has a rare combination of personal qualities. Never satisfied with the status quo, she is
always looking for new opportunities to do things better and take on new challenges. In both
service and academic environments, she blends leadership skills with a genuine charm to
motivate those around her to be successful. Jessica is regarded by her peers as a caring friend
and a hardworking individual.

This school year, while continuing her academic excellence in an advanced curriculum, Jessica
has offered to take on new responsibilities. After attending the USA/Canada Leo Leadership
Forum at The Lions International Foundation headquarters, in Chicago, Illinois, she accepted the
position of California statewide Leo Advocate to function as a liaison between Leos and Lions.

For the above stated reasons and for countless more, I wholeheartedly recommend Jessica for
any opportunity that would enhance her educational pursuits and continue her involvement in
community service.
