Caffeinated Dialogue With Amy Barbera

Interviewer: Voicing hello from the Asian orientalist Indian subcontinent to you Amy, for
being the ardour in hearts and souls of Western popular genre pastorals and carols. You
have been an angelic spirited elf, fairy queen of evangelicalism, chameleon butterfly in
the cocoon of brownies and pixies. Although I am not an occidental, yet I can resonate
your charming mellifluousness and mystique melodiousness to be an amalgamation of
chocolatey tunefulness and a dulcet of honeyed lyrics and voices. What is your
perspectival stance in contextualizing the tradition of pastorals and carols?

Amy Barbera: Well I love the traditional Christian songs such as "Amazing Grace" and I
have performed and recorded such songs over the years but it is my heart as an
inspirational music artist to create orignal songs that God has inspired me to write,
record and perform to uplift and inspire others in a real and honest way. I tend to write
and record songs dealing with life circumstances, that people can relate too and gain a
sense of peace, comfort and healing that eventually will lead them to the Lord. I feel like
I am called to be a vessel of God's love through my songs and voice!

Interviewer: Edgar Allan Poe’s Annabel Lee re echoes through your cinematic and filmic
musical song sung “I Had A Dream.” Your feminist magical transformation of breath of
angels has the zealotry to herald lyrical adaptation of mermaids and sea nymphs to
television screen. Will “I Had A Dream” be appropriated as an anthem of grace for the
end of perennial crises?

Amy Barbera: I actually wrote my song "I Had A Dream" envisioning myself talking with
Jesus ... kind of like the Poem "Footprints in the Sand"...The lesson or the moral of the
poem "Footprints in the Sand" is that during any point of your life you are never alone
because God will always be beside you, and carrying you if needed, at anytime. I wrote
my song "I Had A Dream" imaging the poem "Footprints In The Sand" and that Jesus
was with me to bring me Peace & comfort and to show me the way of his love and
grace! I ended the song talking about all mankind being with Jesus in heaven and that
we would all be at Peace with one another! It breaks my heart that there is so much war
going on all over the world and that God's love for all of humanity is pushed to the side...
It is my dream is that all nations of the world will know Jesus and his love and grace and
that we can live at peace with one another! In the end Love is all that matters!

Interviewer: Tomorrow I am flying native homeland Bangladesh from India because of

the interim semester holidays associated with Holi, Easter and Eid seasons
merry-making, junketting, bonfire, beanfeast, gala and get-together. What are you
intending to look ahead to this Easter —-fundraising, charity shows, fair, garden party,
gala day and so forth.

Amy Barbera: For me, Easter is a time to focus on Jesus and on his resurrection! The
resurrection of Jesus shows us that death isn't the end. There is a life after the one we
live now if we believe in Jesus. Just like spring when flowers are blooming and
butterflies and transforming ... they are symbols of the resurrection of Jesus. Just as
butterflies emerge from a cocoon in which they are hidden away, Jesus emerges from
the tomb three days after being crucified on the cross and he is alive. It assures us that
Jesus is alive and reigning, and that we have a living hope in Him. Butterflies just like
the ressurection also represent the transformation the Christian faith can lead to,
through the grace of God.
