____________________________________________________________________________

1. The diameter of a closed cylindrical water storage tank is 14m and its height is 20m. Find
the capacity of the tank in litres.
2. A cylindrical tank has a capacity of 5632m3. If the diameter of its base is 16m, find its
depth.
3. The volume of a circular iron rod of length 5cm is 3850cm3. Find its diameter.
4. Find the volume of the cylinder whose base radius is 3mand height is 12m.
5. Find the volume of a cube whose total surface area is 486cm2.
6. The dimensions of a rectangular water tank are 12m×15m×20m. How many litres of
water does it hold when filled to the brim?
7. The edge of a cube is doubled. By how many times will its volume and surface area
increase?
8. 8250 bricks of length 6cm, breadth 6cm and height 10cm are used to construct a wall.
Find the volume of the wall in m3.
9. How many cubical blocks of side 50cm can be cut from a cubical block of wood of side
1m?
10. A cylindrical roller is used to paint a rectangular dais. The length of the roller is 1.4m and
its diameter is 0.7m. If the roller rolls over the dais 59 times completely, find the area of
the dais.
11. A solid metallic rod 15 cm long with a diameter equal to 3.5 cm is melted and made into
another rod of radius 3.5 cm. What will be the length of a new rod?
12. A metallic pipe whose internal and external radii are 8 cm and 6 cm has a length of 2.1m.
Find the volume of the metal.
13. The surface areas of a cube and a cuboid are equal. The edge of the cube is 6cm. The
length and breadth of the cuboid are 8cm and 4cm respectively. Find the height of the
cuboid.
14. Vijaya made 5 identical hollow cylinders for her activity from a rectangular sheet which
measures 44cm × 25cm. If the radius of each of the cylinders is 3.5 cm, find the height of
each.
15. A cuboidal block of silver is 9 cm long, 4 cm broad and 3.5 cm in height. From it, beads
of volume 1.5 cm3 each are to be made. Find the number of beads that can be made from
the block.
16. The dimensions of a cuboid are in the ratio 5: 3: 1 and its total surface area is 414 m2.
Find the dimensions.
