Sketch a fallen leaf
If you are new to sketching and don’t know how to start, here are a few
suggestions to help you get started.
Look at the overall shape of the leaf. What simple geometric shape would this
leaf fit into? Find the main stem. Note where it crosses the middle line.
Compare the right and left sides of the leaf. Observe the main veins of the leaf
and study how they spread from each other. Take a closer look at each section
of the leaf to see how the surface bends to create lighter and darker areas.

How to Sketch a Bug
No need to stress if you're struggling to begin. Focus on the little
details, like the lines, curves, and shapes that construct the bug.

The exciting part is replicating these features on paper. Start with

loose lines and basic shapes. Next, refine your work, check angles
and edges, and add solid lines and volume to your sketch. Finally,
add fine details.
