Answer the following
1. How plants are adapted to different seasons?
Ans. During autumn, days become short with less sunlight. The leaves are no
longer able to produce food for the tree. The leaves turn yellow or brown, and
then fall off. During winter the tree has no leaves at all, which is the dormant
period. In spring new leaves and branches begin to produce and by summer it
is covered with green leaves again and start to produce food for the plant.

2. How animals are adapted to different seasons?

Ans. Animals undergo any of the two processes:
a) Hibernation: Animal’s body goes into a dormant state for a long period.
During this period, the heart rate and breathing slow down and its
temperature also goes down.
b) Migration: Animals move from one region to another region, where there is
warmth and more food.
