IU FACULTY OF ECONOMICS INTERNATIONAL OFFICE

Presentation Faculty of Economics is the oldest institution in its eld,

representing the rst independent school on economics in
Turkey. It was founded on 14 December 1936 upon
Ataturk's directives. Faculty of Economics, established
when not many Western countries had separate economics
faculties, has had more than 45.000 graduates since its
establishment. By education and research activities, it
continues to contribute to Turkish social and economic life.

incoming students are conducted by Istanbul University

Fall semester and whole academic year: 15 July
Spring semester: 15 November
IU Faculty of Economics offers instruction in two languages:
Turkish and English. Incoming students are required to
have suf cient language skills (minimum B1 for
undergraduate students and B2 for graduate students) in at
least one of the two languages to study here.
Information about courses can be found in IU Education
Information System.
Our incoming students are expected to design their
learning agreement mainly from the courses offered by the
Faculty. They are also allowed to choose two courses from
any faculty of IU as long as the courses are not overlapping.
