Dear Participants,

Greeting from JICA Kansai!

carefully before your departure. Please be sure to check the email address provided on the

We will have a Connection test on Tuesday 7th May, 2024, and Program orientation on Monday
20th May, 2024. The objective of the orientation is to explain outline the program.
*We will share zoom link shortly.

2. Vaccination certificate & Quarantine

Even though valid vaccine certificate or pre-departure test is not required when entering Japan,
please check carefully if you will need them on your return (including the transit countries).
*There were some actual cases that participants were rejected at the airport counter on their
return, as they didn’t have vaccine certificate for entering their countries.

3. Preparation of PC (notebook/laptop)
During the program, you are requested to use personal computer for individual work. For
smooth work, we recommend that each participant bring his/her own PC (equipped with
Microsoft Office -Word, Excel, Power Point) to Japan.

4. Preparation for observation trips during the program

It would be convenient to bring a small bag for short trips of a few days away from JICA Kansai(or
an accommodation you stay), which are planned during the program. Comfortable clothes and
walking shoes for short trips are also recommended.
For annual climate and weather averages, please see the General Information (GI).

5. Preparation of Japanese Yen

Allowances will be deposited to your temporary bank account (opened by JICA) 2 to 5 days after
your arrival in Japan. It is highly advised to bring some cash in order to cover necessary expense
for this period. We recommend that some of your currency be exchanged to Japanese Yen at any
transit airport or an international airport you arrive in Japan. It is quite difficult to exchange
money after that, due to limited availability of facility or time during the program.
