BACKGROUND OF THE MEETING

In May 2023, SMM held the first Indonesia Nickel and Cobalt Industry Conference in Jakarta. The
conference invited nearly ten Indonesian government officials as Coordinating Ministry for Maritime
Affairs & Investment, Coordinating Ministry for Maritime and Investment Affairs, Coordinating Ministry
for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs, Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning-National Land
Agency, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, and Ministry Of Industry. During the conference,
the Indonesia Minister of Maritime Affairs and Investment, Mr. Luhut, attended the meeting and
delivered a speech, announcing that Indonesia would introduce the latest nickel price index. On-site,
over 500 corporate delegates from more than 30 countries around the world witnessed this moment.

As we enter 2024, the global emphasis on the mining sector has increased, and Indonesia, with its
unique natural resource reserves, has attracted widespread attention from companies worldwide. This
year, we will hold the Indonesia Critical Minerals Conference in June.

This event is scheduled to invite nearly 20 government officials from various countries such as
Indonesia, New Caledonia, and the Philippines to deliver keynote speeches on the first day of the
conference. Also, we will extend global invitations to over 100 speaking guests, 30+ exhibitors, and
1000+ conference delegates.
