According to my research, The Act of Republic.

All public and private schools, colleges, and

universities are required to teach courses on No. 1425, sometimes referred to as the "Rizal Law,"
because of the life and writings of Jose Rizal, particularly his novels Noli Me Tangere and El
Filibusterismo. The primary goal of the law, which Senator Jose P. Laurel proposed, is to spread
Jose Rizal's beliefs and ideals through reading his writings. This was put into effect on June 12,
1956, and it was done so through the courses that were taught. The goal of teaching students
about Rizal's life is to strengthen their sense of nationalism, patriotism, and national identity. It
also aims to raise their understanding of the importance of national heroes in our nation's history.
Rodriguez (2023).
However, there have been debates regarding the law's implementation at both public and private
schools prior to its implementation, as certain individuals are against it. Senator Decoroso
Rosales, the brother of Archbishop Rosales Francisco "Soc" Rodrigo, Senator Marion Cuenco,
and Father Jesus Paredes are the opponents of this bill. Jesus Cavana, the Catholic Action of the
Philippines' friars, contends that the law goes against Catholic doctrine, and that Rizal's writings
and novel are all about opposing the friars and the church in the past. Furthermore, a letter
submitted by the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) claims that Rizal
breached Canon Law 1399, It outlaw books that criticize or contradict Catholic teaching and
customs. Moreover, it emerged as the most controversial issue around, with people arguing about
whether or not it should be implemented in public. Par Admin (2023). The RA, I believe. Since
1425 is currently taught in every subject in both public and private schools, as well as in colleges
and universities, it has been implemented successfully. Everything serves as a reminder of the
national hero's past and the sacrifices they made in order for us to enjoy our freedom.
The purpose of its implementation was to recognize Jose Rizal for all of his contributions to
history, so that the students, who represent the next generation, would know who these
individuals were. And to have this hero's assistance in achieving all of their goals in life. They
may get the opportunity to study more about historical events and how they differ from those that
occurred in the present day. It also aids in their comprehension of how Rizal lived during those
earlier years.
And in my viewpoint, Rizal's significance for a college education is in helping us see how, in the
past, this particular hero came up with a way for us to have our freedom and, with his labors and
sacrifices, helped us to become unique individuals who conquered us. Furthermore, learning
about Rizal's life and deeds enables us to understand the lessons he imparted and the things he
valued along the way. Because it is deeply rooted in our history and sense of national identity,
understanding this is crucial to be able to have our freedom we do now. We need to be aware of
the heroes and their contributions. In general, we owe Rizal since he defends our independence
from the Spaniards. He died in order to grant us the liberties and peace we desire. Comparing
this to Rizal, who gave up everything including his life for us, understanding this is not as
difficult. His struggles and sacrifices for the next generation must never be forgotten. Lastly, Jose
Rizal gave us all we could possibly want, but we didn't have to pay him back for all of his hard
work and suffering, he may have faced severe difficulties in the past. And I believe that gaining
knowledge about his life and works is a form of compensation for all of the difficulties he had in
the past.
