Review of “Young Sheldon“

“Young Sheldon”, a prequel to “The Big Bang Theory”, takes us back to the not-so-
ancient times of the twentieth century in rural America. The series follows the
growing up of the extraordinarily gifted young Sheldon and the setbacks he
experiences through these years of maturing, shown in a light-hearted, humorous
way. The hardship of trying to fit in and not being understood even by his parents
and siblings is only one of the difficulties Sheldon has to go through while entering
his teenage years.
Тhe show enables the viewers to glimpse at what the life of the American middle
class had been back in the late 80s and how they dealt with their everyday
situations. We are offered the opportunity to empathize with the characters since the
emotional roller coasters they go through are well-known by each one of us, which
makes the series hit home.
“Young Sheldon” is such professionally made show that makes the watching
experience a pleasurable one. The attention to detail and the acting of the young
members of the cast and not only theirs is what makes it stand out from the crowd.
Better development of the family member characters, though, is the one thing that
could have been executed more efficiently. However, that is not a reason at all to
give up on watching it.
The series manages to hold the viewer’s attention from beginning to end by being
relatable for the wide audience. If watching a heartfelt family comedy that teaches
you valuable life lessons as well sounds like your cup of tea, I strongly recommend
to give “Young Sheldon” a try.
