Marvellous debut
The Welsh Wildlife Centre
For the penultimate concert of the year on October 21, Cardigan and District Organ and Keyboard Club introduced a new artiste to the Cardigan audience, and it proved to be a marvellous debut for Chris Magrath from Exeter. Playing a YAMAHA TYROS 3 keyboard linked with a digital piano Chris demonstrated some of the finest keyboard dexterity and control ever enjoyed by local concert goers. This was combined with wonderful musical expression to produce some beautiful orchestral and instrumental sounds in a programme ranging from Strauss to Thomas Fats Waller, with too much in between to mention. It was a wonderful live music experience. To ensure that the final concert ends the year on a high note, the club is delighted to confirm that Chris Stanbury from Banstead, Surrey returns to Cardigan after an absence

of three years. Chris will be remembered for his memorable, past concerts when he, too, performed with enormous keyboard dexterity and sensitivity, playing his YAMAHA D DECK electronic organ. His programme will vary between J S Bach and Mike Batt, from Johann Strauss to Ethel Smith and from Edward Elgar to the big band sound of Edward (Ted) Heath, with much more besides. The concert will take place on Friday November 18, commencing at 7.30pm in the Bishop Petit Memorial Hall, North Road, Cardigan with admission at just 5.50 per person at the door. Interval refreshments will be available and there is free car parking. Further details from Bill Oakley on 01239 710770 or Bob Davies on 01239 682657.
