EQUIPMENT LIST
The lighting diagrams on the following pages illustrate the setups used during Kelly Brown’s
Fine Art Maternity class.

During this session, the following equipment was used:

ŠŠ Broncolor Siros 800 strobes


ŠŠ 75cm Octobox (softbox)
ŠŠ 30x120cm Strip light (softboxes)
ŠŠ 8ft high reflector (polyboards / v-flats)
ŠŠ Window daylight
ŠŠ 3x3 ft black board to block light from bottom of the window

ŠŠ Strip boxes skim a touch of light across the backdrop from both sides, at lower output
than the main light
ŠŠ A 75cm octobox feathers light softly across the subject from a high angle

ŠŠ No lights on backdrop

ŠŠ A single strip light behind the subject is angled to allow the intensity of the light to focus
on the edges of the subject. Rim Lighting is perfect for adding drama to images.

ŠŠ Natural daylight streams through the studio window, right of frame.


ŠŠ To control the amount of direction and amount of light we have blocked the lower third
of the window to reduce the intensity of light on the subject’s lower half.
ŠŠ A large reflector, angled slightly, kicks in fill-light from the opposite side.
