Learning aims:-to talk about future plans, to express food likes and dislikes
-to consolidate the use of future tense using ”will “
-to learn new language structures
-to practise the use of modal verbs “can” and “may ,also the use of adverbs
-to improve students’ pronunciation and their ability of speaking English freely
Teaching techniques:conversation,explanation,exercise
Assumed knowledge:-Ss.are already familiar with food items and quantifiers, also
the affirmative form of “will” future and basic uses of modals “can” and “may”
Anticipated problems:-some Ss may not be familiar with certain words
-some Ss may not remember previous vocabulary and grammar information
-some Ss may be shy to speak English.The T will encourage them to speak
English,if they remain silent,they are less likely to learn.The T will explain to them
that it is better for them to risk getting something wrong than not to say
anything.All learners need to experiment and make errors.
Time:50 minutes

PROCEDURE

Activity 1:Warm-up(2minutes)
Aim:to warm Ss up
Interaction:T-Ss,Ss-T
Procedure:T greets the Ss,asks if there are any absents then Ss are asked
questions about themselves,there is a chat between Ss and T,trying to create a
pleasant atmosphere for the lesson

Activity 2:Checking homework and previouse knowledge(8 minutes)


Aim: to check homework and to review previous information
Interaction:T-Ss,Ss-Ss
Procedure:Ss.are asked to present their homework,different Ss answer and
correct if necessary

Activity 3:Presenting the new lesson(3 minutes)


Aim:to introduce information related to the lesson and to get Ss involved
Interaction:T-Ss
Procedure: T writes on the board the title of the lesson, then tells the Ss that they
are going to reinforce the use of quantifiers,negative and interrogative will future,
also to practice modal verbs used to express ability/lack of ability and permission.
All of these are going to be reinforced through written exercises and
communication.
Activity 4:Listening,speaking and writing(10minutes)
Aim:-to listen and complete correctly some exercises
Interaction:T-Ss,Ss-Ss
Procedure:Ss are asked to watch a short video that presents a food festival, they
also have a short text that they scan for a minute; after that, they note down the
new words, if there are any, and do some matching/comprehension exercises.
Activity 5:Reading (5minutes)
Aim:- to complete a dialogue by ordering the lines
Interaction:T-S,
Procedure:Ss are asked to read exercise 1,pg.101 and complete it with the
adequate phrase.It is a comprehension exercise.Ss complete the task

Activity 6: Writing(10minutes)
Aim:-to practise will future: affirmative,negative and interrogative/short answers
Interaction:T-S,S-S
Procedure:T tell Ss that they are going to work on various exercises in order to
reinforce the use of future simple. Ss are asked to pay attention to each sentence,
they complete them with the correct form either affirmative,interrogative and
short answer where needed.
Ss complete the task,they receive feedback.

Activity 7: Writing ,speaking (10minutes)


Aim:-to parctise the use of can /may in order to express ability and permission
Interaction:T-S,S-S
Procedure:Ss receive worksheets that contain exercises meant to develop their
ability of using correctly modal verbs “can” and “may”. Ss complete the task.

Activity 8:Evaluation and homework(2minute)


Aim:-to evaluate Ss’ work
T evaluates Ss’ work, notes down the ones who were most active during the
lesson and gives them homework
