FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO MUSHROOM CULTIVATION IN THE STATE

Mushrooms are cultivated indoors in specially constructed mushroom houses for commercial
cultivation and in huts for seasonal cultivation. Being a rich source of protein and a good alternative
of meat for the vegetarian people, mushroom remains in demand throughout the year in domestic as
well as international markets. Mushrooms cultivation demands heavy investment in the initial stages.
The small & marginal seasonal mushroom growers who want to expand their temporary mushroom
farms and those farmers who want to start afresh are usually unable to invest the required amount of
money from their own pocket. So keeping in view the aforesaid problems, it is proposed to provide
40% financial assistance to promote mushroom cultivation among the farmers under this scheme.
