Describe an example of your leadership experience in which you have positively
influenced others, helped resolve disputes, or contributed to group efforts overtime’s.

Throughout my life, I have always believed in the power of compassion and the importance

of standing up for others. This belief was put to the test during my junior year when I

encountered a fellow student who was struggling with anxiety and becoming a target of ridicule.

I remember the moment vividly.

In the crowded hallway between classes, I saw a group of students mocking him for his

nervous mannerisms. It was a scene that could easily go unnoticed or be dismissed as harmless

teasing by some. However, I saw the pain in his eyes, and I knew I had to act. Drawing on my

own experiences with anxiety, I approached him after the incident. We found a quiet corner, and

I listened as he shared his struggles. I reassured him that he was not alone and that his feelings

were valid and important.

We spoke about coping mechanisms that I had found helpful, such as mindfulness exercises

and journaling to process emotions. In the days that followed, I became a friend and an advocate.

I encouraged him to speak with a counselor, and together we reported the bullying to school

authorities. I also initiated conversations with my peers about the impact of their words and

actions, fostering a more empathetic school culture.

This experience was transformative, not only for the student I helped but also for myself. It

reaffirmed my commitment to empathy and advocacy. As I look towards the future, I am

determined to carry these values into my college education and beyond, with the goal of creating

inclusive and supportive communities wherever I go.
