CHAPTER 1: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

A front-end developer is a professional responsible for creating the visual elements and user
interfaces of websites or web applications. They use technologies like HTML, CSS, and
JavaScript to design and implement the client-side of web projects, ensuring a user-friendly and
visually appealing experience. Front-end developers collaborate with designers and back-end
developers to bring a website's or app's user interface to life, making it responsive and
interactive. They also focus on optimizing performance and cross-browser compatibility. This
role requires a strong understanding of web design principles, responsive design, and the ability
to work with various front-end frameworks and libraries.
Professional front-end developers design and implement the user interface of web pages. Users
need this interactive interface to access and use the web application for various purposes. By
using programming languages to code, these professionals ensure that the designs they build
work well. They need to stay updated with the latest tools and technologies that are used in this
domain because the ways of creating websites keep on changing.

Design and implement the functional techniques and principles of web design
Create codes that are reusable in the future
Define the right balance between functional and aesthetic design.
Enhance the speed and scalability of the website.
Monitor the performance of the website and fix usability problems
Creating codes that can also be used in the future.
Develop tools and features that enhance customer experience
Work with the organization’s web development team ensuring accuracy in the complete
software development life cycle (SDLC)
Front-end development otherwise referred to as client-side development, uses
JavaScript, HTML, and CSS languages to build web applications that users can use and interact
with. This domain revolves around the look of a website and how the design is implemented.

CHAPTER 2: OVERVIEW OF THE ORGANIZATION

Introduction of the Organization

IBM (International Business Machines Corporation) is a multinational technology company
headquartered in Armonk, N.Y. It was founded in 1911 as the Computing-Tabulating-
Recording Company (CTR) and was later renamed to IBM in 1924. IBM is one of the world's
largest IT companies, with operations in over 170 countries.

IBM is known for its hardware and software products, including computers, servers, storage
systems and networking equipment. It also provides consulting, technology and business
services, such as cloud computing, data analytics and artificial intelligence (AI). IBM's research
and development efforts have contributed to numerous technological innovations, including the
development of the first programmable computer, the first hard drive and the first computer
virus.

History of IBM
In its early years, IBM was widely associated with the punched card, invented by CTR
employee Herman Hollerith. In 1914, Thomas J. Watson joined the company as general
manager. CTR itself had been formed from three companies that sold grocery store scales, time
recording devices and tabulators. Over the next few decades, Watson built the business machine
company of the future, now known as International Business Machines.

As it happens, IBM tapped the management consulting ranks to run the company and hired
Louis Gerstner, a former McKinsey & Co. consultant and chairman of RJR Nabisco, to become
IBM CEO in 1993. Under Gerstner, IBM continued its service push, in addition to expanding its
role in software. In 1995, IBM acquired Lotus Development Corp. and then merged with Tivoli
Systems Inc. the following year.
By the late 2000s, IBM's hardware sales accounted for just 10% of total revenue, while
services and consulting accounted for two-thirds of revenue, with software and miscellaneous
(financing) bringing in the rest. IBM continued an aggressive acquisitions strategy in the new
century, but it was all software and services firms.

10
In the 2010s, IBM began recasting itself as a cognitive solutions and cloud computing
platform company. Virginia "Ginni" Rometty, appointed IBM CEO in 2011, emphasized a
core group of strategic imperatives for IBM: analytics, cloud, mobility and security.

In 2013, IBM acquired SoftLayer Technologies, a Texas-based cloud service provider

(CSP). This gave IBM a jump-start to its cloud strategy, which was lagging well behind
Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft and Google. IBM has added facilities and called its
CSP business IBM Cloud.

In July 2019, IBM made its biggest purchase ever, spending $34 billion to acquire leading
Linux-provider Red Hat Software. It merged Red Hat's hybrid cloud OpenStack software with
IBM Cloud and on-premises services for a hybrid cloud approach to digital transformation.

IBM Organizational Structure

IBM (International Business Machines Corporation) uses its organizational structure as a
strategic means to streamline its product development and delivery in the information
technology market. Structural characteristics enable the alignment between various aspects of
the business and the strategic objectives of IBM’s mission statement and vision statement. A
firm’s organizational structure or corporate structure defines the makeup of the business, in
terms of form, systems of interaction among components, and the design that influences
processes. For example, IBM’s corporate structure determines how its regional offices
communicate with each other. The structural features are also key factors that influence the
interactions among the company’s employees, who are called IBM ‘S. These conditions affect
managers’ decisions at IBM’s headquarters, especially in terms of how strategies are
implemented throughout the company structure’s hierarchy. Such business impact and
significance put IBM’s organizational structure as one of the basic variables that dictate the
performance of the business and its ability to effectively respond to challenges in the industry.

11
Vision of the Organization
IBM’s vision statement is “to be the world’s most successful and important information
technology company. Successful in helping out customers apply technology to solve their
problems. Successful in introducing this extraordinary technology to new customers.
Important, because we will continue to be the basic resource of much of what is invested in this
industry.”

Research and development

Thomas J. Watson Jr., who succeeded his father as IBM CEO in 1956, put the company on a
research and development track. Big Blue's research center , launched in 1961, encompasses
research labs in Yorktown Heights, N.Y., and Cambridge, Mass., as well as an industry
solution lab in Hawthorne, N.Y. Notable developments out of IBM's research center include
the invention of dynamic RAM and the Fortran language. More recent research endeavors
include blockchain, quantum computing and cognitive technology.

IBM also invests heavily in semiconductor research as it investigates chips to support cloud
computing and big data systems. But, while Big Blue conducts research on silicon, the company
exited the microelectronics manufacturing business in 2015, selling that operation to
GlobalFoundries.

12
CHAPTER 3: INTERNSHIP PART

A front-end developer is responsible for creating the part of websites and web applications that
users see and interact with. They use web languages such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to
build user interfaces that are functional, responsive, and attractive . The main responsibility of
a front-end developer is the user interface . They are different from web designers who create
the look and feel of the website but not the actual implementation .
The basic languages for front-end development are HTML, CSS, and JavaScript . Front-
end development focuses on the user-facing side of a website . Front-end developers ensure
that visitors can easily interact with and navigate sites by using programming languages, design
skills, and other tools
Web developers create and build websites from the ground up. Before they get started on
a design, they take the time to fully understand the requirements and expectations: how much
traffic the site will generate, what users will do with it, and what kinds of technology it needs to
be compatible with. They can use their knowledge of programming and open-source code to put
together a website that meets those needs. They often form part of a development team, working
alongside systems engineers and developers. Web development involves a lot of coding, testing,
and re-coding. Developers are constantly on the hunt for code errors and issues that could slow
performance or create data threats.

In this I have learnt about the web developing skills and how to get build the sites in websites
with using of css , java script which is associated with the IBM have given and organized the
many of the skills like technical and technological & managerial skills and skill development
classes online classes.

WEEKLY REPORT
WEEK – 1 (From Dt 06-06-2023 to Dt 12-06-2023)

Objective of the Activity Done: Web Development Basics

Detailed Report:
In this week I had learned about this internship process and known about the virtual internship. In
this week I had known about the web developing concepts and introduction to designing web page
. Web development is the work involved in developing a website for the Internet (World Wide Web)
or an intranet (a private network).Web development can range from developing a simple single
static page of plain text to complex web applications, electronic businesses, and social network
services. A more comprehensive list of tasks to which Web development commonly refers, may
include Web engineering, Web design, Web content development, client liaison, client-side/server-
side scripting, Web server and network security configuration, and e-commerce
development.Among Web professionals, "Web development" usually refers to the main non-design
aspects of building Web sites: writing markup and coding. Web development may use content
management systems (CMS) to make content changes easier and available with basic technical
skills.

For larger organizations and businesses, Web development teams can consist of hundreds
of people (Web developers) and follow standard methods like Agile methodologies while
developing Web sites. Smaller organizations may only require a single permanent or contracting
developer, or secondary assignment to related job positions such as a graphic designer or
information systems technician. Since the commercialization of the Web, the industry has boomed
and has become one of the most used technologies ever.In this same week I gathered information
to know about this platform which is offering my internship and at the end of this week I had written
the knowledge checkup exam which I have to write mandatory for every week and to get the above
70% in that to qualify for next week

WEEKLY REPORT
WEEK – 2 (From Dt 13-06-2023 to Dt 19-06-2023)

Objective of the Activity Done: DEVELOPING SITES FOR THE WEB

Report:
In this week I had completed the concept about cloud developing sites in web, also known as
web security, is a collection of security measures designed to protect websites – based
infrastructure, applications and data. Website development is the process of designing, building,
and maintaining a website. Websites are essential for businesses of all sizes to connect with
customers and build a brand. There are many different types of website development, including
web design, web development, and online marketing. Web development is one of the most
popular areas of computer science, and for good reason. It's a versatile field that can be used to
create a wide variety of websites. Whether you're a beginner looking to learn how to design and
build a basic website, or an experienced developer looking to create something more complex,
this article will teach you the basics of web development. You'll learn about HTML, CSS, and
JavaScript, as well as the different frameworks and tools that are availableFront-end
development
Front-end development is the process of designing, building, and testing the visual part of a web
or mobile application. Front-end developers create interfaces that are used by users to interact
with a system. They work with both visual and functional design, as well as user experience and
accessibility. Development platforms are essential for creating software applications. They
provide an environment in which you can write code, test it against errors and bugs before
release, manage your project team remotely from anywhere in the world with ease (or on-site if
needed), and deploy your finished application onto web servers or mobile devices. In this week
I had performed the first lab and it is a great experience to me and gained the information about
how to perform the further labs.

WEEKLY REPORT
WEEK – 3 (From Dt 20-06-2023 to Dt 26-06-2023)

Objective of the Activity Done: INTRODUCTION TO HTML

AND CSS
Detailed Report:
In this week I recalled about the HTML and CSS , in this intoduction the simple web interface
many great resources out there keep referring to HTML and CSS as programming languages,
but if you want to get technical, labeling them as such is not quite accurate, because they are
only concerned with presenting information. They are not used to program any logic. JavaScript,
which you will be learning in the next section, is a programming language because it’s used to
make webpages do things,HTML and CSS are two languages that work together to create
everything that you see when you look at something on the internet. HTML is the raw data that
a webpage is built out of. All the text, links, cards, lists, and buttons are created in HTML. CSS
is what adds style to those plain elements. HTML puts information on a webpage, and CSS
positions that information, gives it color, changes the font, and makes it look great
With HTML, you will be able to create the structure of your website.CSS gives you the
ability to make the website look more visually appealing.
As for JavaScript, this is a robust programming language that allows you to effectively change
the HTML and CSS components of your website to match your specifications precisely.
If you own a website but don’t know much about coding, knowing the difference between these
three programming languages should help you better understand what goes into developing a
website
If ever a problem occurs with a component of your site, having a clear idea of what these
programming languages are may be enough to help you properly diagnose what is causing the
need to be successful once you get to the JavaScript content as you continue
through our curriculu

WEEKLY REPORT
WEEK – 4 (From Dt 27-06-2023 to Dt 03-07-2023)

Objective of the Activity Done:

Detailed Report:
In this week I learned about A javascript, in the most general sense, is an organized
collection of data. More specifically, JavaScript is the driving force behind the interactive and
dynamic nature of modern web development. It’s a versatile and essential programming
language that empowers developers to create responsive, user-friendly, and feature-rich web
applications. In this article, we’ll explore the fundamental role of JavaScript in web
development, delve into key concepts, and provide practical code examples with their outputs
to illustrate its power. JavaScript is a client-side scripting language that runs directly in a user’s
web browser. It is responsible for making web pages interactive and responsive, allowing users
to engage with web content beyond static text and images. Here’s why JavaScript is
indispensable in web .
HTML is the foundation of the house. It provides the basic layout, structure, and content
of a website.CSS is the interior design. It provides design, fonts, colors, effects, and other
visual elements.
JavaScript is the electrical and plumbing systems. JS brings dynamism and interactivity to the
website. For example, pop-ups, animations, video and social media embeds, drop-down
menus, and many other website components are created using JavaScript
It’s unique because it can run directly in your browser, not just on a server.
Along with hypertext markup language (HTML) and cascading style sheets (CSS), JavaScript
is one of the most commonly used programming languages of the internet.

WEEKLY REPORT
WEEK 5(From Dt 04-07-2023 to 10-07-2023)

Objective of the Activity Done : Website testing and deployment

Detailed Report:

In this week I had completed the knowledge checkup for the above week and in this
week, I had learned the testing and deployment in websites and content delivery. In this aspect
of respected topic Testing: it’s one of those potentially dull and yet highly contentious topics.
I’ll try to avoid the dull, but there may be some contention brewing on the horizon.

Most programmers work on software that others have created and that others
will develop after them. Sharing the code creates a community in which the team of developers
live and interact. Preserving code quality not only has a direct impact on how well a developer
can do their job, it becomes a moral obligation to their colleagues in the community. At the
last stage of the software development life cycle comes the deployment stage. This is where
the team migrates software from the controlled development and staging environments to
production (the technical term for “the real world”).

But, right before hitting production, the software must go through multiple
layers of testing, and then a set of sets known as “deployment testing” to ensure that it is bug-
free and provides true user satisfaction. Deployment testing in software testing is the final line
of defense against sneaky bugs, unidentified so far. This layer of testing prevents them from
filtering into production and ruining software quality where it really counts. It is essential to
keep users happy, maintain brand credibility and drive revenue n the absence of deployment
testing, you might reduce time-to-market, but you’ll end up with a bug-ridden app, customer
complaints, higher costs of bug fixes, and 1-star ratings. Hence, QA teams must be equipped
with the required tools, knowledge, and structure required to successfully run deployment tests
These logs contain useful information like to create a web page to from their community.

23
CHAPTER 5: OUTCOMES DESCRIPTION

The work environment I have experienced:

The real time work experience is great and it is very positive towards our studies and it helps
me a lot in maintaining time. From one day to another I am able to transition from online
classes without falling behind schedule. Mentors are very helpful and approachable to
complete my virtual internship. It is very surprising to see how quickly I adapted to them in
this aspect of internship. This online or virtual learning provides more time flexibility. I have
a bit more time to complete my further projects and any other works. It helps me to develop
my skills and self-discipline from planning my day and to do the particular tasks to complete
my virtual internship. I am very glad to take my internship in virtual manner because of to
improve my technical skills and to be in a better position after completion of many of the
programs like this. Sometimes it bores to take the virtual classes but it made me to take class
in any situation. Mentors and guides are very helpful in this type of virtual internship. I had
learned the more technical skills from this virtual manner and it is my great experience to
complete it as per the yearly outcome. By the encouragement from my respected principal
sir and honorable HOD sir. They had played a wonderful role to complete my internship. By
this I had learned about socialization, socialization is the process through which someone
else to become a member of society individual and how to perform their social roles
internalized the norms, terms and values of the community specialization. It prepared me to
participate in a social grew by teaching me their norms and expectations. I had learned about,
teaching impulse control and developing a concern, preparing me to perform certain social
rules, and cultivating shared sources of minima

24
Technical skills I have acquired:
I have acquired the real time technical skills are gaining expertise in performing
physical or digital tasks. There are many different kinds of technical skills. Traditionally,
people working in mathematics, computer science, mechanics and information technology
have used many technical skills. Today, however, many more industries rely on employees
with technical knowledge. For example, retail and food service workers often need to know
how to use point-of-sale (POS) software. Technical skills vary widely between industry and
job type. For computer programmers, knowledge of various coding languages is considered a
technical skill. Customer service representatives may need technical skills relating to customer
management and telephone systems. Teachers might need technical skills related to
instructional technologies and software applications ranging from student behaviour
monitoring to grading. The most natural way to acquire and enhance skills is through. It is one

to the growth of other, more difficult skills. Skills acquired are the talents and abilities you've
mastered through education, practice and experience. They can help you perform your job at
a more proficient level or move to other roles in your field. Acquired skills include hard skills,
such as technical skills and job-specific knowledge. Acquired skills are abilities you learn
through practice and experience. Often, acquired skills can include both hard and soft skills,
and these abilities may help you improve your performance at work. Technical skills are the

The managerial skills I have acquired:

I have acquired the best managerial skills from the institution which I have performed and gave
my best in as part of internship. In this I have learnt about the managerial skills that are technical

the abilities that can executive should possess in order to fulfill specific tasks in an organization.
They can include the capacity to perform executive duties in an organization while avoiding the
crisis situations and promptly solving problems when they occur. In this I had learnt that the main
theme is to maintain the positive energy to do any task to complete. The best leadership qualities
are acquired by the mentor of that particular internship platform. The main skills are mandatory
acquired by the students are technical skills, conceptual skills, communication skills, human
management skills. By this the requirement of technical skills are very much important in this
society to survive. I had completed all the modules with a great experience. I had improved my
skills by every week and I realized that improvement is always wins. Improvement and
development are the two keywords which are very deserved in this society. In this the managerial
skills are acquirement is very easy to learn but difficult to apply in this society. But in this society
the lack of managerial skills the number of students is not ready for getting job with good package.
