Q 1 A sample survey of tax-payers belonging to in AMRITSAR and PATNA yielded the
following results:

Given these sample data, test the hypothesis at α = 5% that the proportion of defaulters is the
same for the two cities.

Q 2 Your Company had last year launched the electrical Mosquito Racket Killer racket. It is
produced from new raw material along with the latest technology. The Product boasts of a
high capacity rechargeable battery, fast charging speed, long usage lifespan & wider
Mosquito-Killing Range. Its can rapidly kill Mosquitoes, Flies & insects with a voltage
current, and at the same time it is also sufficiently safe even if users touch its electric net
carelessly.

Design a questionnaire to study the consumer awareness, perception, usage and satisfaction
with the electrical Mosquito Racket.

Q 3 Three different medicines manufactured by pharmaceutical companies are claimed to


have a moderating effect on blood pressure level. In order to check the claim of the
companies, three clinical trials were conducted for each of the medicines and the time taken
by each medicine to moderate the blood pressure was recorded. The results obtained are
summarised as follows:

Using One-way ANOVA, test the hypothesis that all the medicines are equally effective in
moderating the blood pressure level. [α = 0.05]

Q 4 A survey was conducted to find the popularity of the three brands of milk supplements
among boys and girls. The results of the survey are given below:

Does the above data provide sufficient evidence to infer that the choice of the milk
supplement is independent of the consumer being a boy or a girl? Test at α = 0.05

Q 5. The company XVU provides students online platform for learning the different
concepts. The primary goal of XVU company is to bridge the gap between the Indian
education system and help the students fall in love with what they learn. The teaching content
is delivered to the students in various forms such as quizzes, exercises, visualizations and
much more than just the theoretical knowledge. It is trying to create a situation where
students take the initiative of learning instead of content being spoon-fed to them. XVU has
chosen the students as its target audience. Whether it is a student of grade one or a student
who is trying to clear entrance examinations such as IAS, CAT , XVU has it all. XVU has
chosen its target audience very wisely as it covers every exam which is crucial and trending
these days such as the JEE, NEET or BITS.

During this Corona Phase, you have been given a responsibility to look into the present
scenario and to identify the current problem. Prepare a research proposal for the same clearly
giving all stages of research process..

Question 6) You are a research scholar with a university offering a number of postgraduate
courses like M Com, MCA and MBA through traditional offline mode. The university now
proposes to offer its courses through online medium

Q 1. Agriseeds Ltd. wants to compare the performance of two varieties of wheat seeds, W79
and W89. Seven farms were randomly chosen for the experiment, and the yields (in tonnes per
hectare) for each variety on each farm were as follows:

Using the above data test the hypothesis that the mean yield is the same for the two varieties at
5% level of significance.

Q 2. An online newspaper is the online version of a newspaper. Going online creates more
opportunities for newspapers, such as competing with broadcast journalism in
presenting breaking news in a more timely manner.
Many daily newspapers in India now offer an online version including The Times of
India,Indian Express,The Hindustan Times, The Hindu, The Economic Times, DainikBhaskar
to name a few.
Design a questionnaire to study the consumer awareness, perception, usage and satisfaction
with online newspapers.

Q 3. Students were given different drug treatment before revising for their exams. Some were
given a memory drug, some were given a placebo drug and some were given no treatment.
The exam scores (in per cent) for the three different groups of students are shown below:

Q 5. People have often faced problem in procuring daily essential items including milk and
other dairy products. With an aim to addressing this problem Mother Dairy plans to set up
additional kiosks. You have been appointed as a research associate of Mother dairy. You are
required to prepare a research proposal clearly stating all the stages of the research process to
address the above issue.

Q 6. You are the HRD manager with ABB (India). ABB has recently taken over a major unit
in Kolkata. You are sent on a posting there and are given the task of introducing a new
operation scheme which your parent organization feels will improve efficiency. But you
perceive during your stay that there is an underlying dissatisfaction amongst the employees
and it is essential to gauge their view and opinion about the takeover and their expectations
before introducing the scheme.
