I. OBJECTIVES Session 1
Objectives must be met over the week and connected to the curriculum standards. To meet the
objectives, necessary procedures must be followed and if needed, additional lessons, exercises, and
remedial activities may be done for developing content knowledge and competencies. These are
assessed using Formative Assessment strategies. Valuing objectives support the learning of content
and competencies and enable children to find significance and joy in learning the lessons. Weekly
objectives shall be derived from the curriculum guides.
A. Content The learner demonstrates understanding of fitness and exercise in
Standards optimizing one’s health as a habit; as requisite for physical activity
assessment performance, and as a career opportunity
B. The learner leads fitness events with proficiency and confidence resulting
Performance in independent pursuit and in influencing others positively
Standards
C. Learning At the end of the session, the learners should be able to:
Competencies/ a. Identify the importance and benefits of aerobic training;
Objectives b. reflect their experience in performing cardio respiratory fitness; and
Write the LC c. create one week aerobic training program and apply the FITT
Code for each
principle.
D. Values A session teaches learners information, engagement, and collaboration, as
Infused well as, respect and fair play, through recitations, while also
acknowledging the learners' ability and performance of what they do best
and applying the nature of life itself
E. Science

any)
II. CONTENT Content is what the lesson is all about. It pertains to the subject matter that the teacher aims to teach in
the CG, the content can be tackled in a week or two.

Aerobic Training
III. LEARNING List of materials to be used on different days. Varied sources of materials sustain children’s
RESOURCES interest in the lesson and learning. Ensure that there is a mx of concrete and manipulative
materials as well as paper-based materials. Hands-on learning promotes concept

which you can infer from formative assessment activities. Sustain learning systematically
providing learners with multiple ways to learn new things, practice their learning, question
their learning processes, and draw conclusions about what they learned in relation to their

volunteer to lead us a prayer. I’ll lead the prayer, ma’am.

Thank you, Zoey. Let’s bow down our heads

and let us pray.

Lord, we offer to you our

class today. We pray that
through you Divine Guidance,
we would learn how to listen
attentively to the inputs of our
teacher. May we appreciate his
effort in imparting his
knowledge to us. May we
participate actively in the
discussion and activities, so we
could learn more while having
fun. May we value each other’s
contributions as a building block
towards harmony and peace.
Grant that we recognize you in
each of our classmates and
teachers. As we are far from
each other, we pray that you
keep us safe from harm and
illnesses. And we would be able
to apply correctly what we have

(EXPLAIN) others that causes you to sweat and
breathe hard that makes your blood
pump through your veins as it carries
oxygen to your muscles to keep you
going? If it’s yes, you are performing
and engaging in aerobic exercise.

According to Dr. Kenneth H.

Cooper, the word aerobic literally
means “with oxygen” or “in the
presence of oxygen”
The term aerobics is used to
describe all forms of low- intensity
exercises that focus on the
improvement of cardio respiratory
fitness.
Who would like to give some
health benefits that can be acquired  it helps develop stronger
through engaging aerobic exercise? bones that are less
susceptible to injury,
 promote joint stability,
 increase muscular
strength,
 increase the strength of
the ligaments, tendons,
cartilage and connective
tissue, and
 contribute to fewer lower
back problems
Your answers are all correct.

The other benefits of cardio

respiratory fitness are improved general
fitness level, energy for work, and
better performance in physical
activities. It leads to greater
productivity, decreases fatigue, and
relieves stress at work.

What do you think are the

reason why people intended to engage
in exercise?
To have healthy lifestyle, to
become physically, mentally and
emotionally stable, ma’am.

Very good.

Who can give examples of

aerobic exercise or activities?

Anyone, yes Luna? Ma’am, Zumba.

That’s right!
Zumba is a form of exercise that
involves dancing to fast tempo music.

Can you give another aerobic

activity?
Ma’am running.
Great! Running is one of the
easiest paths to fitness. It requires less
time and less equipment. And it is good
for body composition, endurance and
muscle strength.

Aside from the given examples of

your classmates is there any more
ideas?
Ma’am jogging.
Very good example. Jogging is
one of the most accessible forms of
aerobic exercise. Anyone can jog
anywhere he likes.

And at the time of pandemic what

is the trend? Biking, ma’am.

You’re right. Biking or cycling

develops the cardiorespiratory system
as well as muscular strength and
endurance in the lower extremities.

Those activities that we’ve discuss

are just one of many more aerobic
exercises that can help person to be fit
and healthy.

To develop your aerobic

capacity, you need to have a
purposive, planned, and skillful
execution of your activity or workout.
The FITT principle will guide you in
your aerobic workout.

What are the acronym FITT Frequency, Intensity, Time

stands for? and Type ma’am.

Very good.

Frequency refers to how often you

exercise.
Do you know how many times a 3-4 times a week ma’am.
week should aerobic workout to be
done?

Correct.
Intensity relates to how hard you
work during your exercise session. It
can be measured by factors like heart
rate, speed or resistance.

Time refers to the duration of each

session. How long do you perform
aerobic activities? 30 minutes? 1 hour
or more?

And Type it indicates the kind of

exercise or activity you choose.
No, ma’am.
Okay, do you know how to
calculate your exercise heart rate?

We will use The Karvonen

Formula also known as the Karvonen
method or Heart Rate Reserve (HRR)
method.

.
F. Finding For your next activity, you will
practical design a one-week aerobic training
applications of program for yourself, incorporating
concepts and various aerobic exercises and following
skills in daily the FITT principle. Write a reflection on
living your experience and the changes you
(ELABORATE) observe in your cardiorespiratory
fitness after completing the program.

This is an example of Fitness

Program.

Where we will put ma’am?

That ends our session for today. I
