Company History

LBC operates through two main segments: logistics and money

transfer services. The logistics arm caters to both retail and corporate

clients, while the money transfer services encompass both domestic

and international remittance services. LBC holds the top spot in the

Philippines when it comes to payments, money transfers, handling

documents and mail, shipping parcels and boxes, and managing cargo

and logistics. They have an expanding presence with more than 6,400

locations, partners, and agents spanning across 30 countries. LBC is

dedicated to moving lives, businesses, and communities while

spreading joy worldwide through their services.

Carlos Linggoy Araneta founded Luzon Brokerage Company in

1945 as a brokerage firm. With the collaboration of his sons Juan

Carlos, Santiago, and Fernando, Araneta expanded their family

business into an air cargo agency and later into a forwarding service

provider for clients. As a third-party shipping provider, the company is

tasked with dispatching shipments through asset-based carriers and

organizing shipment space for their clientels.

In 1973, the company further diversified its logistics services

and subsequently introduced 24-hour or overnight delivery services in

the country. In 1985, LBC expanded internationally by opening its

first branch outside the Philippines in San Francisco, California,

United States. Alongside the inauguration of its US-based branch, the

company introduced the renowned "Balikbayan Box" and launched

their money remittance service to serve Overseas Filipino Workers

(OFWs). The title "Hari ng Padala" (King of Deliveries) was bestowed

upon the company in 1990.

In 2005, additional products like Branch Pick-up and Bills

Payment were incorporated. Furthermore, in 2010, the company

introduced a more secure mail service catering to personal

documents, loose cargo, and container loads. Transitioning from

personal services, LBC expanded its scope to target business owners.

At present, it stands as the foremost choice for courier services,

cargo and logistics management, and remittance solutions, earning

the trust of the Global Filipino community. As of December 31, 2022,

LBC provided logistics services through 1,613 branches owned by the

company in the Philippines, along with 73 company-owned branches

and 535 partner-agent branches across 29 other countries and

territories globally.
