It was in the morning when the sun rose and the roosters flapped their wings and
crowed. Then there was competition among them to show who the best rooster in the
farm was. “I am an incomparable crower. No rooster can sing as beautifully as I do,”
said Pelung rooster mocking his friends. “I am the prince of charming in this farm.
Look at my attractive body” said Phoenix rooster.
“Pelung, you can only make noise. Phoenix, you are handsome but you have no
talent. Both of you cannot fight and I am the best fighter in this farm.” said Bangkok
rooster boastfully. Bangkok was a martial artist.
“Hi, Bangkok! I have just moved from the other farm. You haven’t fought with
me. And I have defeated many roosters in my previous farm”, said Cemani rooster to
challenge Bangkok. “Cemani, how dare you are to challenge me? Let’s fight! You will
know that I am the best.” The situation became silent. Phoenix rooster and Pelung
rooster were silent. Both Bangkok and Cemani were looking at each other and ready
to fight.

Sumbi, who loved weaving. One day, Dayang Sumbi was weaving. For some

would take him as her husband. Tumang, her dog, took it for her. At first she was
confused, but finally she met her promise to marry Tumang although Tumang was
a dog. But Tumang actually was a dog who was famous for being loyal and

Dayang Sumbi did not know it was Tumang meat. But then, Dayang Sumbi asked
Sangkuriang where Tumang was and Sangkuriang admitted what he had done.
Knowing this, Dayang Sumbi could not hold her anger and hit Sangkuriang on his
forehead leaving a deep wound. Dayang Sumbi asked Sangkuriang to go away
from her.
Sangkuriang grew into a handsome man. One day he was in a forest he met a
beautiful woman. He wanted to marry her, but he did not know that she was
Dayang Sumbi her mother. Dayang Sumbi knew that he was Sangkuriang her son
from the scar from his forehead. She did not want to marry him but she did not tell
him the truth. Moreover she asked him to make a lake and boat just for one night
which was actually only her trick to refuse him. When Sangkuriang almost finished
his job, she tricked him as if the morning had come. Finally the genies who help
Sangkuriang were away and Sangkuriang failed. He got angry. He hit the boat and
it turned into a mountain and it is now called Mount Tangkupan Perahu.
