Task on CES SUPPORT COMPONENTS

Introduction:
Importance of Support components: Support components are the backbone of any system, providing the
necessary tools and infrastructure for smooth operation. From libraries to frameworks, APIs to infrastructure tools, they
streamline development, enhance scalability, and ensure compatibility. Although often overlooked, their importance cannot
be overstated, as they play a vital role in creating robust software solutions that meet evolving demands. Investing in these
components is essential for fostering innovation and driving technological advancement.

Support Component- Support components are vital tools, frameworks, and infrastructure elements that assist in
developing and maintaining software systems. They streamline processes, enhance scalability, ensure compatibility, and
contribute to system reliability and efficiency.
Types of Support Components:

1. Wires and Cables-

A single/solid wire is a single, unbroken metal conductor
used in electrical applications for its rigidity and
durability, unlike stranded wires composed of multiple
smaller strands. It's commonly employed in residential
wiring and electronics for its stability and ease of
SINGLE OR SOLID WIRE installation.
Stranded wire is made up of smaller wires twisted
together, providing flexibility and durability for various
electrical applications.

STRANDED WIRE
Twisted wire is multiple insulated wires twisted together
to reduce interference, commonly used in
telecommunications and networking for improved signal
TWISTED OR BREADED quality.

Switches- Switches on support components are control mechanisms enabling specific functions or actions within
auxiliary structures, optimizing performance and resource utilization across various applications.

Image/Name Description/Uses-Example Symbol

A permanent switch is an electrical device used to manually
control the flow of electricity in a circuit, turning devices on
PERMANENT or off. Once installed, it remains in a fixed position for long-
SWITCH term use.
A monetary switch is a device that regulates financial
MONETARY transactions based on preset conditions, commonly used in
SWITCH banking and electronic payment systems for automated
fund management.
Multiple Multiple contact switches enable connections with multiple
contacts circuits simultaneously, allowing for versatile circuit
configurations in electronic devices and systems.
switches.
Knife switches are old-style electrical switches with a metal
KNIFE lever used to open or close circuits manually. While once
SWITCHES common, they're now outdated due to safety issues and
newer alternatives. Nonetheless, they hold historical
significance in electrical engineering.
PUSH-BUTTON A push-button switch is a basic electrical switch activated
SWITCH by pressing a button, used to control devices or functions by
completing or interrupting circuits.
ROTARY SWITCH A rotary switch is an electrical switch that rotates to select
from multiple positions, controlling the flow of electricity in
a circuit. It's frequently used in electronic devices to enable
users to choose different settings or functions easily.
A mercury switch is a device that consists of a small
MERCURY amount of mercury sealed within a glass tube. It operates
SWITCH by using the conductive properties of mercury to complete
or interrupt electrical circuits based on the orientation of
the switch.
A relay switch is a device that controls the flow of electricity
RELAY in an electrical circuit by opening or closing contacts.
SWITCH
REED A reed switch relay uses a magnetic field to make contact
SWITCH between two metal reeds, enabling current flow, known for
its reliability and durability.

Microphone and Speakers- A microphone captures sound and converts it into electrical signals, facilitating recording
or amplification. Conversely, speakers receive electrical signals and transform them into audible sound waves, enabling
playback or output. Together, they form essential components for audio recording, communication, and playback systems.

Image/Name Description/Uses-Example Symbol

CARBON A carbon microphone utilizes variations in the
MICROPHONE resistance of carbon particles to convert sound waves
into electrical impulses.
DYNAMIC A dynamic microphone functions through the
MICROPHONE movement of a diaphragm connected to a wire coil
within a magnetic field generated by magnets.
CONDENSER A condenser microphone operates by detecting changes
MICROPHONE in capacitance and is favored in professional audio
settings for its sensitivity and superior performance.
CRYSTAL A crystal microphone utilizes a piezoelectric crystal to
MICROPHONE convert sound waves into electrical impulses.
DYNAMIC OR A dynamic or magnetic speaker utilizes
MAGNETIC electromagnetism to produce sound, with a coil-driven
diaphragm moving within a magnetic field to generate
SPEAKER audio.
CERAMIC A ceramic transducer employs piezoelectric ceramics to
convert electrical signals into mechanical vibrations, as
TRANSDUCER ceramics can undergo mechanical deformation in
response to an applied electrical voltage.

Meters- Meters in support components are instruments used to measure various parameters such as volume, frequency,
voltage, or current within audio or electrical systems. They provide visual or numerical representations of these
parameters, aiding in system monitoring, adjustment, and optimization.

Image/Name Description/Uses-Example Symbol

An ammeter measures electric current in a circuit,
AMMETER displaying the current in amperes (amps). It helps
diagnose electrical issues and ensures safe operation by
monitoring current levels.
A voltmeter measures voltage in electrical circuits,
VOLTMETER showing the potential difference between two points. It's
used for testing and monitoring electrical systems.
An ohmmeter measures electrical resistance in ohms by
OHMMETER applying a known voltage and measuring resulting
current flow, commonly used in electronics for
troubleshooting and component assessment.
A wattmeter is a device that measures electrical power
WATTMETER consumption or production in watts, helping monitor
energy usage and assess device efficiency.
