ABSTRACT

This study aimed to know about the different level of effects of social events

to the social behavior or emotions when interacting in various social groups

inside of the school grounds. Also, the researchers want to know the different

reactions or changes in behavior when exposed to different levels of social

activities and how they would handle different situations with numerous

individuals from different social groups with unusual personalities and different

personal backgrounds.

The study utilized grade 12 HUMSS students of KNCHS, the sampling

technique used used probability method of sampling in choosing the respondents

for the study. Simple random sampling method was used to select randomly

subset of participants from target population.

As a result, the researchers concluded that when students are exposed to

various social events, they have the opportunity to enhance and discover their

personal talents or different skills when interacting socially. Furthermore, social

skills can assist and educate students in a variety of techniques and methods for

communicating with others without malicious intent. Social skills can be a big

factor in different ways in different circumstances, such as being concerned for

and challenging others, taking accountable decisions, and successfully managing

difficult situations. Social events could be able to help every person with how

they interact with others and communicate well with them with the help of

different social skills

CHAPTER I
INTRODUCTION

Background of the Study

The researchers can only solve the world's biggest issues if we

strengthen our knowledge of human behavior Schlinger (2005). It's normal

to have a social life, especially when interacting in school. Social events

can be inevitable for a person, especially if they are studying. When it

comes to socializing, people frequently meet new people outside of their

own field of expertise. Another objective of social events is to provide

people several opportunities to learn how they might specialize in their

area of interest.

The provision of multiple opportunities to learn how one could

specialize in their area of interest is one of the aim of social events.

Social events can be overwhelming for a student, which rarely prompts

them to ask themselves why they should go or why they should be

experiencing them in the first place. The students also tend to ask

themselves what the event means to people individually or whether it is

associated to functions they hope to complete in the future. Your behavior

and the kind of social events you enjoy attending are related. The terms

"conduct," "deportment," and "conductment" refer to one's behavior in front

City of Koronadal

of or toward others, particularly on a certain occasion. Since behavior is

defined as activities that are frequently evaluated against recognized norms,

it is actually possible to determine how the two interact.

Teachers, school counselors, social workers, and school

psychologists have long argued that some students' poor academic

performance is a consequence of their improper social skills (such as lack

of preparation and awareness during class, hostility toward teachers and

other students, inability to participate in cooperative learning, and disruptive

behavior in the classroom) (studying skills, problem-solving skills, critical

and decision- making skills, mastery and performance skills, task

management skills). When they failed to act appropriately, students who

had trouble with social skills were subject to harsher disciplinary actions.

They (students) require systematic and direct instruction in the skills

necessary to succeed in the classroom (Martens & Witt, 2000). According

to Warger and Rutherford (1996), the certain instances of the students'

attempts to achieve academic achievement throughout their high school

matriculation have been thwarted by the confluence of a lack of social

and academic study abilities.

Furthermore, Gatchalian (2015), stated that every institution in the globe

offers a variety of extracurricular activities. The researcher notes that

City of Koronadal

universities like De La Salle University (DLSU), Ateneo de Manila

University (ADMU), and University of the Philippines (UP) have their own

extracurricular activities in which students actively participate, and the

Philippines is no different. There are numerous extracurricular activities

available at the University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P), including the

Media Management Committee (MMC), Dulaang Roc, Viare, Communitas,

Bosun (the school journal), and many more that are not listed here.

Despite the wide range of extracurricular activities available to students, the

researcher has noticed that some students start off participating actively

before gradually ceasing to do so. The researcher notes that participation

in extracurricular activities is beneficial since students can profit from the

advantages provided (Holloway, 2000). In addition, the researcher believes

that these advantages make it difficult to determine if enjoyment alone is

the most important element determining active engagement. As a result, it

has inspired the researcher to further explore what other factors affect

select university students' active participation in extracurricular activities in

UA&P.

The researchers have determined that this type of study will be

used to know the social behavior of the student and how they handle it in

relation to social events. The purpose of this research is to learn about

the effects behavior or emotions on interactions in various social groups

inside of the school grounds. One of the common issues that are visible

is that students act differently when they achieve such accomplishments or

goals that they received form a particular social interactive activity, where

they tend to change their attitude in relation to how they control their

emotions when interacting with different individuals or a social group.

Furthermore, this study could be used to determine the cause and effect

of behavioral changes in Senior High School students as a result of being

exposed to social events.

Statement of the Problem

This study would like to determine the effects of social behavior and social

events on students from KNCHS Senior High School.

Specifically, it sought to answer the following questions:

1. What is the profile of the Grade 12 HUMSS students in terms of sex?

2. What is the level of effects of social events to the social behavior?

3. What is the leading effect of social events to the social behavior of the grade

12 SHS students?

Significance of the Study

This study provided insight to social behavior of Grade 12 HUMSS

students in during their social events. Specifically, this study will benefit the

following:

Students. This research may assist students comprehend the

consequences of social events in their daily lives.

Teachers. The study findings can help teachers assess their students'

behavior in relation to the effects of social events.

Future Researchers. The overall findings could be a great assistance to

future researchers since this study can serve as a guide or basis for

future research on the same topic.

Scope and Delimitation of the Study

This study mainly emphasized the social behavior of the SHS grade

12 of the KNCHS on the social event they joined. It will took estimated

3,000 plus students which are selected from the grade 12 SHS of KNCHS.

This study is exclusive for the grade 12 SHS students only, and did not

include the grade 11 students of KNCHS. It will took 3 months to finish

CHAPTER II
REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE AND STUDIES
This chapter presented the definition of terms, related literature, and

studies that were significant to the study. These consisted of books theses, and

articles from internet written by both foreign and local authors.

Effect of Social Skills

According to Flower (2008), social skills inspire effective interaction

and keep away from negative interaction with the others. Social skills could

can promote communication skills to others, it can also display positive

energy and well approach. It can also benefit and enhance oral skills while

interacting. The ability to interact and behave in a pleasant manner, to

develop and maintain good connections, to make responsible decision, and to

cope peacefully and appropriately with challenging situations are referred to as

social skills. Furthermore, social skills can help those who are too shy to show

their hidden talents, and social skills can educate people a way to communicate

with others without any awful intentions

Furthermore, according to Zins, Wang, and Walberg (2004), social

skills help in being concerned for and challenging others, taking accountable

decisions, and successfully managing difficult situations. Social skills are making

society livelier and helping the community grow. It also helps in determining

different outcomes, whether it has a negative or positive effect based on different

situations. It can relate to the desires of different individuals and the need to give

effort in order to succeed in different objectives depending on the situation, which

may result in obtaining knowledge. It can also benefit an individual to increase

their level of skill in handling situations while interacting with numerous social

groups. Therefore, social skills can help progress an individual’s understanding

and can improve and different skills when socializing with different various groups

within the society.

Moreover, according to Koc and Turan (2018), social skills are the ability

to organize healthful and effective communication with others. Social skills could

be able to help every person on how they are able to interact with the others and

communicate well with them. Participating in a variety of actions that have been

taken or plans that have been made will feel more effective if social skills are

developed. When wanting to communicate with others, individuals our social

skills to approach them properly and recognize them. Furthermore, Idea Social

skills can give knowledge on how to communicate nicely with others through

healthy conversation. This can also help develop social interactions.

Furthermore, according to Gigantiello, (2015), meaningful morning

meetings begin with careful planning; decisions need to be made on the additives

involved, the physical environment, substances used, and positive behavior.

Social skills can give an effective kind of vibe to everybody who is cooperating for

a few varieties of activities they’ve taken or plans they've made. When a group of

students is making plans for their activities and needs help from everybody, they

will use their social skills to engage properly with the others. Therefore, a great

social skill is when everyone is willing to cooperate with the activities. Through

the agreement of the others, it might be easy to take a decision.

Therefore, according to Arslan (2011), it set up a daily ritual that allows

students to greet one another, share life stories, construct belief and respect, and

transition into the day’s activities. Social skills are allowed to express their

feelings or to share a few details of their lives, and there is no judgement from it.

Everyone is allowed to share their thoughts or a story from their life, so if there's

someone who shared with you and they want you to keep the things that they

shared, it would be good to respect them. It can be based on beliefs, traditions,

and opinions from different sources. Another idea is that social skills will be a

great matter when all of us are responsible for using them in a good manner and

improving them with assurance and sharing them with others.

Social Events

According to Li, Lu, Bhagat, Lakshmanan, and Yu (2014), social events

is a platform like Meetup and Plan cast. Recently, it has become popular for

planning gatherings and hosting events. However, there is a striking lack of

research on how to effectively and efficiently organize social events for large

groups of people via such platforms. Social events is an event involving a

public gatherings in which entertainment is provided such as sporting

events, team building exercises, a competition and etc. It is an opportunity

for people to gather to socially interact and to entertain individuals through

different activities. It is a special festivity and joyful occasion to mark a

happy event. Thus, event planning is an essential thing before arranging

the event to enhance the chances in succeeding in an event and it can lead

to numerous achievements.

In addition, according to Guest (2022), social gatherings are the ideal

environment for maximizing the chance to interact with different individuals with

unfamiliar personalities. Participating in an event enhances the chances of being

exposed to a variety of people and increases the ability to engage with different

individuals. It can also lead to encountering different individuals with a variety of

personalities, convictions, ideas, and reservoirs. Attending professional and

amateur-hosted events can lead to interconnecting with numerous experts from

different networks. This could also help gain greater insight into numerous

City of Koronadal

backgrounds, including how to engage in different situations with unconnected

individuals and how to handle personal behaviors when exposed to different

situations when socializing with numerous unsorted groups. As a result, social

gatherings can help improve an individual's mental state about how to interact

with various individuals from various social groups, as well as help them gain

knowledge about how to improve and handle how to interact with various

individuals or social groups with different personalities and unfamiliar

backgrounds.

Furthermore, according to Rossides (2018), through social interactions,

the social and empathetic components of emotional intelligence are formed (EQ).

Through the interactions or discussions these events create, students can forge

connections, comprehend different points of view, and interact with different

cultures. Through the interactions or discussions these events create, students

can forge connections, comprehend different points of view, and interact with

different cultures. One has the opportunity to grow their social network at social

events. A special "End of Session Trip" took SCU Sydney students bowling and

singing in the afternoon. Even if events like this don't significantly affect a

student's academic performance, they at the very least have a big impact on their

whole school experience. The social connections that take place on campus

benefit students in a way that can't be fully replicated by a book, lecture, or

10

workshop. Through on-campus social events, students can easily meet others

who share their interests and who can assist them academically or even

professionally. For the reason that the workplace demands proficiency in

negotiation, communication, and, well, more networking, students should practice

connection development.

Moreover, according to Williams (2019), they're a wonderful method for

making real connections. The idea that social occasions might provide some of

our fondest memories is significant to a lot of individuals. People enjoy social

gatherings. It can give a sense of importance. But perhaps most importantly,

wonderful memories are always being created. It can be in events such as clubs,

seminars, and parties. Its main objective is to manipulate new acquaintances in a

process of undergoing in different opportunities to create such positive

impressions.

Also, according to O'Mahony (2017) when carefully organized, events may

be strong platforms that have beneficial effects that last. It is known that

numerous social activities affect the economy, and it goes without saying that

well-run, ticketed events may always be profitable. Events, however, are capable

of much more than just making money. Events are frequently designed and

created solely to have social effects on the community where they are held. In

other words, social events such as concerts, clubs, band concerts, etc. help

improve the nation’s economy and have a huge impact on society in terms of

social interactions. It is both beneficial to the business and to the people's social

welfare.

Effects of Social Quotient

According to Azeñedo, Sastre, Artola, Alvarado, and Blanco (2020),

social intelligence had significant and adverse indirect effects on

psychological distress through the dimension of positive relationships with

other people. Social intelligence was positively and significantly related to

psychological well-being. Social intelligence and mental health as well as in

developing therapies that capitalize on this ability for the enhancement of

well being and the alleviation of psychological discomfort. Your social

intelligence has something to do with your psychological well being,

probably because of how well or how bad is your upbringing in your

surroundings. Like if you are being raised with an academically inclined

family, your quotient will be affected and probably it higher than we

thought because it is where you are molded which results of how you

socialize. Therefore, the effects of intelligence quotient to psychological has

a great impact that resulted on how you socialize or interact with others

whether it is or positive or in a negative way.

In addition, according to Pappas (2015), although social intelligence

is a skill that develops over time, learning from life experiences and

interactions with people, it is frequently connected to genetics . As part of

his multiple intelligences theory, Edward Thorndike popularized the concept

of interpersonal intelligence, also known as social intelligence, in the

1920s. It has to do with a person's capacity to relate to those around

them and make crucial choices that have a daily impact on our lives. A

universe of options, both inside and beyond the online learning

environment, are made possible by social intelligence in eLearning, which

can assist students in developing a better understanding of human

psychology, behavior, and communication. Interpersonal intelligence, also

referred to as social intelligence, was made famous in the 1920s by

Edward Thorndike. It has to do with a person's ability to connect with

those around them and make important decisions that affect our lives on a

daily basis. Students can gain a better understanding of human psychology,

behavior, and communication through online learning. When it comes to

making decisions, socializing can have an impact on how an individual

decides if a course of action is best for one person or for everyone. In

essence, your actions are simply a reflection of your surroundings or the

field in which you are now located. In order to ensure that your goal is

13

Department of Education
Region XII
City Schools Division of Koronadal
KORONADAL NATIONAL COMPREHENSIVE HIGH SCHOOL-SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL
City of Koronadal

accomplished, it is highly advised that you choose an atmosphere where

you believe you will succeed. It is also preferable to have an environment

that will help you grow as a person.

Moreover, according to Hahn, Choi, and Lee (2011), we make the

case that social and emotional intelligence, as psychological traits of the

individual, have a substantial impact on creativity and examine how these

traits relate to the creative process and individual creativity. Our

supposition is that the creative process involves both exploitation and

exploration, with exploitation denoting the use of a solution already in

existence and exploration denoting the act of discovering new solutions.

We discover that high levels of social and emotional intelligence support

the creative process and individual originality. Another intriguing finding is

that while exploitation does not directly enhance individual creativity,

exploration does. Individual creativity, exploration, exploitation, social

intelligence, and emotional intelligence. The creative process and individual

originality are supported by high levels of social and emotional intelligence.

Exploration, as opposed to exploitation, fosters individual originality. We argue

that social intelligence has a significant impact on creativity as

psychological qualities of the individual. Understanding when to speak or

listen, as well as what to say and do. A key component of social intelligence

14

Region XII

City of Koronadal

is timing. A person who lacks perception can, for instance, utter a hilarious

joke at the wrong time or fail to show enough attention when meeting a

new person. When you know where you fit in, whether psychologically or

intellectually, you'll be able to foster equality and stronger interpersonal

relationships where everyone feels at ease.

Furthermore, Goleman and Boyatzis (2008), "The best mechanic in

the factory might not succeed as a boss for lack of social intelligence."

Some people who had been employed for their intelligence, drive, and self-

discipline were eventually let go for having poor social skills. In other

words, the individuals were extremely intelligent, but their inability to

function effectively in a social setting at work was detrimental to their

careers. Even if I graduated with the highest honors in my class and was

hired by a company to use my degree, my inability to interact with others

will prevent me from succeeding at my career, no regardless of how

intelligent I am. In this scenario, it doesn't matter how well I know my

profession. If you don't know how to interact with others appropriately, your

intelligence won't define you as a person, even if you work as an

executive. Socializing is important, especially when you get a job.

In addition, according to Van (2019), people are hardwired to

connect with others thanks to our social brains. Even in everyday interactions,

15

Department of Education
Region XII
City Schools Division of Koronadal
KORONADAL NATIONAL COMPREHENSIVE HIGH SCHOOL-SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL
City of Koronadal

social behavior is in our nature. Neuroscience can describe the neural

mechanics of these interactions with other people using novel instruments

like the magnetic imaging resonator (MRI). Social intelligence is functioning

sensibly in these brain-to-brain connections, taking into account more than

just one brain at a time. There are high roads and low roads in our social

brains. The amygdala in our middle brains, which collects messages from

our senses without involving our verbal or conscious abilities, allows us to

feel other people emotionally on the low path. Through this low path,

unrefined emotions can spread from person to person covertly, as if they

were "contagious."

Additionally, encountering people who take the high road, which

activates our verbal and cognitive systems. The high road give a conscious

awareness of what is happening. If there is a situation, it is human nature

to use intellect to make the decision that is believe to be appropriate, it gives

awareness of what is happening. The mind is the one who determines the

quotient that is mostly acquired. It is crucial to develop and strengthen our

intellect because the minds plays a crucial role in socializing.

Social Skills

According to Eleby (2009), stated that social Skills – teachers responded

non-averse relationships and interactions with skills and fellow classmates

in school, and non-disruptive necessary behavior. Whereas, educational or

success social in their is skills at the a lower fails to levels interpersonal

aspiration by being attentive in class, high school and students. Social

Skills – appropriate classroom behavior, maintaining proper educational

attention during Instructional periods, non-aversive relationships and

interactions with teacher and fellow classmates in school, and non-

disruptive classroom behavior. Whereas, improper or inappropriate social

skills is defined where a student fails to exhibit interpersonal social skills

that are necessary for a student to use as a vehicle to higher aspiration

which includes being attentive in class, ability to set up and maintain

healthful and pleasant relationships with teachers and classmates, and

ability to behave in a classroom in a manner that is conducive to learning,

the ability to interact with others in approaches to be able to produce

effective results – sharing, cooperation, helping.

The study sought to determine whether students failed to enjoy

educational success in high school because they did not have an arsenal

17

Region XII

of academic and social skills necessary for the task. In review of the

questionnaire answers submitted by the teacher-participants, the responses

were overwhelming and consistent in that students in high school do not

have the tools (academic and social skills) needed to enjoy educational

success in high school and beyond. The implication of this study should

encourage educational leaders to make social and academic skills an

integrated ingredient of the course syllabus. Educational leaders and

administrators should mandate and include social skills commands in the

curriculum for all classes from K-12. Teachers should be mandated to

provide social skills instructions to students in their classes and those

instructions should be integrated into the course lesson plans. Improving

the student’s social skills increases the academic skills of the student’s

through mastery and performance skills and increases correct and

acceptable social skills.

In addition, Norozy (2013), social skill, or the ability to effectively

interact with others, is becoming increasingly important for organizations as

more team based arrangements are used and more service-oriented jobs

are employed. Social skills can be defined as the set of skills people use

to interact and communicate with one another. They are based on the

social norms of our society and they tell us what attitudes and behaviors

are considered to be normal, acceptable and expected in a particular

social situation. (Patrick, 2008). Libet and Lewinsohn (1973) defined social

skill as a complex ability that produces behaviors that will be positively

reinforced and not produce behaviors that will be punished by others.

Social skills can be described as the set of skills human beings use to

have interaction and communicate with one another. They are primarily

based totally at the social norms of our society and they inform us what

attitudes and behaviors are considered to be normal, applicable and

expected in a particular social situation. For example, appropriate facial

expressions, body language, eye contact, and a good, firm voice tone all

help to communicate the message. As noted above, extant research

shows that social skill plays a role influencing individuals’ success and it

is important because allow us to interact with each other with

predictability.

Furthermore, according to Bosma (2018), social skills are the rules,

customs, and competencies that manual our interactions with different people

and the world around us. In general, people have a tendency to “choose up”

social skills in the equal manner they learn language skills: certainly and easily.

Over time they construct a social “map” of how to in act in conditions and with

others. Social organization are the rules, customs, and children that with the aid

of using our interactions with groups more than one and and varied learning us.

In general, opportunities awareness to “possibilities up” social practice in order

Social skills groups provide an opportunity for people with autism of every age to

exercise their social skills with every different and/or traditional peers on a

regular basis. Many groups comply with commercially to be had social skills

curricula. A evaluate of five studies on social skills groups through researchers at

the University of Utah and the U.C. Davis MIND Institute helped become aware

of what makes an powerful social skills group. Building up social skills with

exercise can assist decorate participation in the community and support

consequences like happiness and friendships. We have compiled social skills

hints and facts from experts, teachers, and families, at the side of beneficial

equipment to assist enhance possibilities to be a part of the community.

Moreover, according to Jackson (2017), social skills are the skills we

use every day to interact and communicate with others. They include

verbal and non-verbal communication, such as speech, gesture, facial

expression and body language. A person has strong social skills if they

have the knowledge of how to behave in social situations and understand

both written and implied rules when communicating with others. Children

Developmental Disorder (Not Otherwise Specified) and Asperger’s have

difficulties with social skills. Social skills are vital in enabling an individual

to have and maintain positive interactions with others. Many of these skills

are crucial in making and sustaining friendships. Social interactions do not

always run smoothly and an individual needs to be able to implement

appropriate strategies, such as conflict resolution when difficulties in

interactions arise. It is also important for individuals to have ’empathy’

(being able to put yourself into someone else’s shoes and recognize their

feelings) as it allows them to respond in an understanding and caring way

to how others are feeling. Fail to ask for clarification if they are confused

or if the situation is unclear to them. *Use fleeting eye contact, does not

consistently use eye contact or stares at you fixedly. *Be unable to start and

end conversations appropriately. Kid Sense was one of the earliest providers

to register for the NDIS and has helped hundreds of parents navigate their

way through the funding regulations. We can help you prepare for your

NDIS planning meeting and guide you through the application process.

Also, according to Sharna (2019), social skills or Interpersonal skills,

is the capacity to engage with people through powerful listening &

communication. This is one of the most critical skills that now no longer

most effective kids & children, however also adolescents want to expand.

METHODOLOGY

This chapter provides a description of the study's research methodology.

The study design, demographic, and sample are detailed, along with the

geographic area in which it was carried out. The instrument used to collect the

data is detailed, together with the procedures employed to keep the instrument

valid and reliable.

Research Design

In this study, the researchers used quantitative research. Additionally, the

researchers collect relevant data from chosen respondents using a non-

experimental design, more particularly, the descriptive survey method. The

researchers want to determine how social events affected the social behavior of

senior high school students at KNCHS. Since the data gathered could be

quantified to draw a conclusion, the focus of the entire study was on numerical

statistical data.

premier secondary institution of learning that stands to build dreams and

aspirations for the search for a newer and broader perspective in the field of

education and will continue to strive for better quality education. Its first name

was Koronadal Junior High School, and later, through Republic Act 5550, a bill

sponsored by James Chiongbian, Koronadal Junior High School became

Koronadal National Comprehensive High School on July 1, 1970. The school’s

110 are male in equivalent of 45% out of all the respondents. Based on the

findings female have higher percentage than the male respondents that the

researchers had gathered in actual survey in this particular context, it implies that

female students participate more frequently and excel in different social events

within the school's premises than the male students. As a result, females tend to

socialize more with different individuals or various groups and participate in more

social events than males.

It only proves the idea of Guest (2022) that social gatherings are the ideal

environment for maximizing that chance. Participating in an event enhances your

CHAPTER V

SUMMARY, FINDINGS, CONCLUSION, AND RECOMMENDATIONS

This chapter presents the summary, conclusion, and recommendation that

the researchers had gathered based on true analysis and interpretation of given

results of the observation.

Summary

Major events have the potential to have positive effects on the people and

communities that interact with them. They have the power to mobilize large

numbers of people and create meaningful impacts on their lives in a number of

different ways. Social skills are defined as the ability to interact with others in a

manner that is conducive to learning. When a student fails to demonstrate

interpersonal social skills that are required for a student to use as a vehicle for

higher aspiration, that student is said to have improper or inappropriate social

skills. As more team-based arrangements are used and more employment are

service-oriented, social skill, or the ability to effectively communicate with others,

is becoming more crucial for businesses. The collection of abilities people use to

interact and communicate with one another is known as social skills. They outline

the attitudes and behaviors that are normal, accepted, and expected in a specific

social setting and are based on social norms. Social skills are making us livelier

in any type of thing that we need to know, even the hard kind.

Social skills can help educate folks a technique to communicate with

others without any horrible intents. Social skills help in being concerned for and

challenging others, taking accountable decisions, and successfully managing

difficult situations. Social skills could be able to help every person on how they

interact with the others and communicate well with them. Meaningful morning

meetings begin with careful planning; decisions need to be made on the additives

involved, the physical environment, substances used, and positive behavior.

When people are cooperating for various activities or plans they have made,

social skills can give everyone a positive vibe. As students function predictors

of future success, it additionally will become important to expand social

skills. The goal of social skills training is to teach people about verbal and

nonverbal behaviors that are involved in typical social interactions. This is the

students who have with better skills successful listening & communication.

This is improvement most children have an effect on that. Social skills training

includes interventions and instructional methods that help an individual improve

and understand social behavior.

Through descriptive survey, the researchers were able to gather relevant

data from their selected respondents by non-experimental design, specifically,

survey the descriptive survey method in gathering relevant data from the

selected respondents as well as availability correlational method, for not all

participants were available for answering. As a result, the researchers have

found out that social events are indeed affecting the behavior and social skills of

the students with this, we are able to reflect and understand someone's behavior

without judging them whether they're introvert or extrovert.

This study thoroughly examines the effects of social events to the social behavior

of senior high school students in KNCHS. It analyses the data gathered

regarding the social skills among students whether it's affecting good or bad to

their behavior.

Findings

Based on the gathered data, the following were the findings:

1. The result of the given data determine that most of are respondents are

Female, with the percentage of 55% and followed by Male, with a

percentage of 45%.

2. The gathered data have shown that the Grade 12 HUMSS students of

KNCHS are rarely affected with the level of social events to the social

behavior having a mean of 2.89.

3. Through the gathered data, the researchers also found out that there are

three leading effects of social events on the social behavior of the

students, based on the different indicators that are mostly favored by the

respondents. When encountering problematic situations, the students find

solutions by thinking about the problem from different perspectives, which

has a mean of 3.29. Also, in addition, get along with other participants in

social events that they are participating in has a mean of 3.32. And lastly,

when participating in social events, the students have trouble staying

focused and listening to directions, but they are well mannered, respectful,

and kind, with a mean of 3.34.

Conclusions

Based on the foregoing, the following were concluded:

1. As a result, the researchers were able to conclude that the majority of

respondents who actively participate in different social activities within the school

premises among the Grade 12 HUMSS students of KNCHS are mostly female;

this also demonstrates that females are exposed to more social events than

males.

2. As the researchers have found out, the Grade 12 HUMSS of KNCHS students

have a high level of social skills when exposed to different social activities with

random and different individuals in different scenarios, and they are rarely

41
Republic of the Philippines
Department of Education
Region XII

City of Koronadal

affected by them. This also shows that the students are clearly inclined with

various social skills and can easily handle situations with numerous individuals or

other social groups with varying behaviors in various scenarios, and they can

mostly find solutions independently or in collaboration with other students

depending on the situation in a social activity.

3.As the researchers looked much deeper, they have found out that through the

gathered data there are three main indications that are mostly favored by the

respondents which shows the different scenarios occurring in different social

activities that the Grade 12 HUMSS 2 Students naturally encounter, and as result

the students normally handle situations weather it involves a large number of

people or other social groupings with diverse behaviors in a variety of settings,

and they can typically discover solutions. In addition, it also shows the level of

social skills that the students have and how well they manage to socialize with

different individuals in a social activity.

Recommendations

Based on the findings and conclusion the study, the following were

recommended:

1. A social event should be established for all students, but much more so for

those who lack the ability to socialize with other people as a result of their unkind

42

Department of Education
Region XII

behaviors. If a social activity can properly care for each student’s behavior, it may

be appropriate to keep it. As a result, the school should take action and plan to

hold a variety of seminars to educate students on the benefits of being exposed

to a variety of social events within the school. This can assist each student in the

development of their personal behavior

2. The Buwan ng Wika, intramurals, high school day are one of an instance

events in school that could be aim to develop relationships. Participating in on-

campus social events enables students to meet people who share common

interests and individuals who can help them with how they interact with other

individuals or even professionally. Relationship-building is an important skill for

students to learn because people around the world exhibit a variety of behaviors.

3. The data gathered show that the teachers at KNCHS must give more of their

own thoughts and persuade the students to participate more in different social

activities established by the school in order to see their strengths in how they will

manage their abilities and to know the importance of social events in their

personalities.
