receive gratuity, Provident

ing his lifetime, she filed
an application after 30
years seeking information
with regard to payment of
the dues. When the appli-
cation was answered by the
information officer, she
filed an appeal before the
regional director stating
that the information was
insufficient. The appellate
authority rejected her
plea. She not only filed a
second appeal but also filed
a writ petition. A single
judge in March set aside
the order of first appellate
authority. Avinash Desai,
senior counsel, appearing
for Air India, said that a
second appeal was pre-
ferred by Uma Devi and
was decided in 2020. The
single judge ought to have
appreciated that the infor-
mation, which was sought,
was furnished to her. He

become the norm and takes
place with the traffic police
watching. Wrong side driving
is seen not just on one-way
roads but on every road in the
city and on the highways too.
Many complaints to the traffic
police to stop this practice
have not yielded results. While
motorists need to be responsi-
ble, closing of crossroads at
many places is forcing them to
resort to such acts. It's high
time strict action is initiated
against the violators.

flow to Road No. 7 to drain into
the nala. In spite of the resi-
dents complaining about it, the
contractor went ahead and
completed the work. A tempo-
rary ramp has been created by
dumping mud at the junction.

news reports and complaints to repair the roads. It is a
back-breaking and harrowing experience to traverse those
patches. This is also resulting in traffic snarls and acci-
dents. Together, it is estimated that up to 10 lakh motorists
take these roads every day. We request the SCB to take
urgent action and repair these roads to make them safe and
