Organization to Promote Japanese Restaurants Abroad

Invitation to JRO International Symposium

in Manila
The Organization to Promote Japanese Restaurants Abroad (JRO) is an authorized non-
profit organization founded in 2007 to promote Japanese Food as a global cuisine and enhance the
national brand of Japan. In order to achieve this goal, we are proactive in organizing international
symposiums and business meetings, hands-on culinary trainings and menu development
opportunities not only to support Japanese restaurants but also to restaurants of other cuisines
around the world with the valuable support of our global network of 24 branches covering Americas,
Asia, Europe and Oceania.

JRO has been interested in the Philippines, ASEAN’s second most populated country with
a promising and growing key market. With the highest expected growth among the ASEAN core
members, the Philippines has been enjoying the benefits of vigorous foreign investments. The
significant developments of the manufacturing, electronics and financial service industries have led
the continuous growth of the Philippine economy. Moreover, the expansion of the nation’s middle
class, specifically the younger generation’s enthusiastic consumption is also expected to further
raise the demand for the country’s foodservice industry, especially restaurants and processed foods.

In order to promote and develop the market for Japanese food and ingredients in the
Philippines, JRO will hold an International Symposium in Manila in cooperation with the Japan
Foodservice Association (JF) and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF Japan).
The symposium theme is “Japanese Cuisine Expanding in the World” JRO has invited business
leaders and experts from the foodservice industries in Japan and the Philippines to discuss on
opportunities and marketing strategies for Japanese food and food ingredients suitable to the
Philippine market.

We hope that this will be a fruitful event for the foodservice industry and related stakeholders
in Japan and the Philippines. We are sincerely looking forward to your participation.
