the dissemination & promotion of ICAR’s initiatives for the growth of Indian
Agriculture and farmers’ welfare.

• The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) is an autonomous body
responsible for co-ordinating agricultural education and research in India.

National Monetisation Pipeline (NMP) :

• The Centre launched the National Monetisation Pipeline (NMP) in an effort to list out
the government’s infrastructure assets for monetization of “Rights” and not
“Ownership”.
• The four-year National Monetisation Pipeline (NMP) will unlock value in brownfield
projects by engaging the private sector, transferring to them the rights but not the
ownership of projects.
• Components: Roads, railways, and power sector assets will comprise over 66
percent of the total estimated value of the assets to be monetized, with the balance
coming from sectors including telecom, mining, aviation, ports, natural gas and
petroleum product pipelines, warehouses, and stadiums.
• Currently, only assets of central government line ministries and CPSEs in
infrastructure sectors have been included.
• Monetization through disinvestment and monetization of non-core assets have not
been included in the NMP.
• Asset Monetisation, also commonly referred to as asset or capital recycling.

• The fourth edition of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Startup Forum
was organized on 19th March 2024 in New Delhi.

World Happiness Report 2024:

• From 2024, the report is a publication of the Wellbeing Research Centre at the
University of Oxford.
• Until then, the report was a publication of the Sustainable Development Solutions
Network, a global initiative of the United Nations.
• The report primarily uses data from the Gallup World Poll.
• This report is based on respondent ratings of their own lives.
• As of March 2024, Finland has been ranked the happiest country in the world seven
times in a row.
• India ranked 126th out of 143 nations in the World Happiness Report 2024, trailing
behind several countries including Pakistan, Libya, Iraq, Palestine, and Niger.
• Interestingly, Majority of India’s neighboring countries fared better in the rankings,
with China securing the 60th spot, followed by Nepal (93), Pakistan (108), Myanmar
