National Mission on Edible Oils-Oil Palm (NMEO-OP):

• In our country around 9 MT of palm oil is imported every year to the tune of Rs. 40,000
crore which is around 56 % of the total imports of edible oil.
• At present against a total potential area of around 28 lakh hectares, only 3.70 lakh
hectares is under oil palm cultivation.
• Therefore, to fulfil the National interest, National Mission on Edible Oils – Oil Palm
(NMEO-OP) is approved (in August 2021). with the aim to enhance the edible oilseeds
production and oils availability in the country.
Targets:
• To increase area of oil palm to 10 lakh hectares from 3.5 lakh ha during 2019-20 by
2025-26 (additional 6.50 lakh ha) of which it is targeted 3.22 lakh hectares for general
state and 3.28 lakh ha in North Eastern states with targeted FFBs production of 66.00
lakh tonnes.
• To increase in Crude Palm Oil production from 0.27 lakh tonnes during 2019-20 to
11.20 lakh tonnes by 2025-26.
• Increase consumer awareness to maintain consumption level of 19.00
kg/person/annum till 2025-26.
Note : Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Kerala are major Oil palm growing States and
account 98% of total production.
• It Provides comprehensive support to farmers.

Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity (IPEF):

• IPEF was launched in May 2022.

• It comprises together 14 regional partners – Australia, Brunei, Fiji, India, Indonesia,
Japan, the Republic of Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Singapore,
Thailand, the United States, and Vietnam .
• It is a new model of economic cooperation.
• In May 2023, the IPEF partners announced the substantial conclusion of the
negotiations for a first-of-its-kind IPEF Supply Chain Agreement.

• కాబట్టా, జాతీయ ప్రయోజనాల కోసం,నేషనల్ మిషన్ ఆన్ ఎడిబుల్ ఆయిల్స-ఆయిల్ పామ్ (NMEO-

OP) ఆగసతా 2021లో కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం ఆమోదించంది.

లక్ష్యాలు:

• 2019-20 నాట్టకి సాగు లో వునన 3.5 లక్షల హెకాారో నతండి 2025-26 నాట్టకి 10 లక్షల హెకాారో కు

పంచడం (అద్నంగా 6.50 లక్షల హెకాారుో).

• ఇంద్తలో ఈశానయ రాష్టాాాలోో 3.28 లక్షల హెకాారుో లక్షయం (66.00 లక్షల ట్నతనల FFBల ఉత్పతిత ) కాగా

మిగిలిన రాష్టాాాలోో3.22 లక్షల హెకాారుో పామాయిల్ సాగు కిందికి తేవాలనేది లక్షయం.

• 2019-20 లో వునన కర
ూ డ్ పామాయిల్ ఉత్పతిత ని 0.27 లక్షల ట్నతనల నతంచ 2025-26 నాట్టకి

11.20 లక్షల ట్నతనలకు పంచడం.

• 2025-26 నాట్టకి ఒక వయకిత సంవత్సరానికి గరిషాంగా 19.00 కిలోల పామాయిల్ మాత్రమే

వినియోగించేలా ప్రజలకు అవగాహన కలిపంచడం.

గమనిక: ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్, తెలంగాణ మరియు కేరళ ప్రధాన ఆయిల్ పామ్ ఉత్పతిత రాష్టాాాలు . ఇవి మొత్త ం

ఉత్పతిత లో 98% వాట్ా కలిగి ఉనానయి.

• ఈ ప్థకం రైత్ లకు సమగూ మద్ద త్ నత అందిసత తంది.

ఇండో -పసిఫిక్ ఎకనామిక్ ఫరేమ్వర్క్ ఫర్క పాేసపెరిటీ (IPEF):

• మే 2022లో పారరంభంచబడింది.
