Sustainable energy resources are receiving a lot of attention as a result of the rise in energy

demand. Although the value of using solar energy to generate electricity has been heavily
emphasized worldwide, Malaysia has not yet made any attempts to develop this energy
source. The social acceptability and degree of human interest in solar energy are investigated
in this study. Furthermore, this study delineates the challenges associated with solar energy
consumption and the anticipated trajectory of solar energy growth in Malaysia. According to
survey results, eighty percent of participants have a strong interest in solar energy.
Nonetheless, the majority of respondents stated that fuel-generated electricity is the better
option due to certain obstacles, such as pricey solar panels and inaccurate information
regarding the use of solar energy. In the meantime, nearly 80% of respondents think that the
best way to increase solar energy usage countrywide would be through government
incentives. In order for Malaysia's new solar energy policies to be effectively implemented,
the government must encourage the construction of solar power plants and provide full
funding and information for independent research. Moreover, over 70% of participants
believe that the government ought to be the primary entity spearheading the advancement of
this energy industry. As a result, this study offers policymakers some helpful resources to
help them further encourage Malaysians to use solar energy. ( K.H. Solangi et. al., 2015)

According to ( Delgado- Sanchez et. al., 2021) Engineering students study the principles of
operation and design of solar power plants during their final year of study. This subject is
typically taught using a traditional approach that emphasizes lectures and does not view
students as active participants in the learning process. The purpose of this experience was to
apply cutting-edge teaching strategies centered on the flipping of the classroom and the use of
analogies. To illustrate the conversion of solar energy into electrical energy in thermal solar
and photovoltaic power plants, a number of examples from the natural world have been used.
Next, using models that drew inspiration from nature, the students contrasted the design
principles of renewable solar plants. The findings demonstrated the substantial benefits of
using naturalistic analogies in instruction.

The world's energy demand is increasing rapidly due to population growth and industrial
evolution, with developing countries contributing significantly. Accessible energy is not
sufficient for people due to various factors such as developmental profile, economic status,
and technological advancements. Ecosystems are polluted heavily due to the emission of
gases from burning fossil fuels, which are readily available and commonly used for satisfying
energy demands.
Developing countries are under pressure to search for energy sources due to their high
population growth and economic development. Non-renewable energy sources are
exhaustible and limited, and continuous use of non-renewable energy sources may lead to
climate change and heavy natural disasters damaging ecosystems.

Eco-friendly energy sources, such as solar energy, wind energy, hydropower, and geothermal,
are crucial for the betterment of the future world. Solar energy is abundant, free, and offers
solid and increasing output efficiencies. Solar radiation distribution and intensity are key
factors determining efficiency in the solar PV industry.

The rising independence of the global population from fossil fuels for energy recovery is
driving the search for solar energy. Proper use of this technology can avoid unwanted
consequences from energy crises. Research is being conducted to increase the efficiency of
the solar industry for energy utilization. ( Nadarajah Kanna & Divagar Vakeesan, 2016)

According to (Arshian Sharif et. al. 2021) Global energy demand is expected to increase 1.5
to 3 times by 2050 due to population, economic growth, and living standards. (Shahsavari
and Akbari, 2018) The global economy primarily relies on fossil fuels, which contribute to
global greenhouse gases (GHGs). (Hanif et al., 2019). This has negative consequences on the
environment, including fracking booms and an increased ecological footprint. The use of
non-renewable energy consumption impedes ecological sustainability, while renewable
energy utilization improves it. Solar energy can lower the paradox between energy use and
ecological footprint due to its perpetual and clean characteristics.
Two main strands of literature emphasize the environmental impact of solar energy. The first
line of literature highlights the positive role of solar energy in the environment, as it can
significantly mitigate carbon emissions. Solar energy is environmentally friendly, with a 95%
lower carbon emission rate than coal and 99% lower water consumption and total air
pollution compared to coal. However, some studies show a negative linkage between
renewable energy and ecological footprint, such as the USA and South Africa.

As the world becomes more conscious of the toll fossil fuels have on climate change, we’ve
seen growing interest in harnessing the sun’s power. Solar energy has emerged as a front-
runner for sustainable and renewable power sources. But even beyond the ecological benefits,
this source of energy offers many advantages for individuals, communities, and businesses.

Solar energy offers personal economic advantages such as lower utility bills and higher
property values. With advancements in technology and reduced costs, solar power will
continue to provide financial benefits. Solar panels generate electricity onsite, eliminating the
need to draw from the grid and ensuring consistent budgets. If solar panels produce more
electricity than needed, they can be sold back to the utility company through net metering,
potentially reducing the bill.

Climate change and global warming necessitate sustainable energy solutions. Solar energy
offers numerous advantages, including reliability, cost-effectiveness, and resource
sustainability. It reduces emissions, conserves resources, achieves energy independence,
creates jobs, and promotes a sustainable future for future generations. (Just Energy, 2024)
