1.

Do you think that planning in today’s organizations should use again the
planning schedule prepared last ten years? Discuss.

I think that planning in today’s organizations should not use again the
planning schedule prepared last ten years ago. In general, planning is happens
when a person or a firm organizes activities in order to achieve a goal. In an
organization, planning is the primary process to construct a detailed step-by-step
way to achieve goals. There is a great difference between today and ten years ago.
Then almost everything was done manually with limited technology but today,
planning is done with the help of advanced technological tools that help in better
data analysis, management, communication, and forecasting. The resources were
limited in the past. Nowadays, they are plentiful. In such a world where the
environment is dynamic or continuously changing, planning has become an
integral part of strategy because a lack of proper planning will hinder the
organization’s growth. Today, only organizations with effective strategic planning
are able to survive on the market.

Planning plays a crucial role in the succcess of an organization. It allows

businesses to adapt quickly to the changing environment and navigate through
dynamic work environments, giving them a competitive advantage. Today planning
helps organizations understand customers need and allocate resources accordingly
ensuring that the organizations can meet rising and changing customer demands.
Effective planning also enables managers to have better control over resources,
find additional funding, and achieve objectives. It ensures that goals are set within
the available resources and helps monitor the completion of planned activities and
adherence to budget provisions. Human Resources Planning is a key aspect of
planning, ensuring that the organization has the right people with the right skills
in the right places at the right time. Overall, planning contributes to the proper
utilization of resources, supports business strategies, and enhances organizational
performance and productivity.
2. “Planning becomes more important or less important in a world where
everything in changing quickly and crisis are a regular part of organization life”.
Discuss the statement.

Planning is a process that involves the creation of a plan that will act as a
guideline when carrying out an action. Planning is done in order to set targets
and to help one to focus on the desired path. Planning is important since it helps
in achieving objectives with ease.Planning will always be important to a manager.
If the importance were to become more or less important, I think it is going to
become more important. Planning is when an organization defines their goals,
establishes strategies for achieving those goals, and developing plans to integrate
and coordinate work activities. Planning is always needed because of the way
things are constantly changing. An organization isn’t necessarily always changing,
but the world is and then can effect an organization, so a company can better be
prepared.

Strategic planning can help an organization respond effectively to a crisis,

and with regular engagement with the strategic plan, can also support smart,
effective decision-making during the crisis itself. We cannot prevent every crisis,
but with planning in the public sector and in an organization, we can adapt when
needed, avoid when possible. One benefit of planning is that it helps determine
an organization’s vision and goals for the future. In creating a planning , we
should include crisis protocols ensures that you are left with a roadmap to
recovery. Recovery from a crisis requires rapid and effective responses.
3. MBO techniques put too much emphasis on achieving goals (ends) and not
enough on the methods that people use to achieve them (means). How do you
think this method has a flaw in the way manager apply it. How would you make
balance between them.

Management by objectives (MBO) improves performance and communication

within organizations by setting clear goals and monitoring performance while providing
consistent and constructive feedback throughout the process. However, while many
businesses benefit from clearer communication and aligning company objectives with
employee goals, it’s not the right solution for every organization. MBO aligns individual
and team goals with overall organizational objectives. By setting clear and measurable
objectives, employees are motivated to work towards achieving them. The MBO
approach emphasizes open communication between managers and employees.
However, MBO prioritizes short-term quantitative goals over long-term strategic ones.
Only focusing on measurable outcomes means managers prioritize targets at the
expenses and other priorities. MBO can be time-consuming because it’s collaborative;
managers and employees must come together to create goals and communicate
regularly throughout tasks and projects.
