I. Objectives
At the end of the discussion, the pupils will be able to:

● identify the planets of the solar system and their distinct features;

● arrange the planets in their correct order; and

● appreciate the planets of the solar system.

II. Subject Matter


Topic: Planets of the Solar System
References: Breaking through Science pp. 202-204, Earth and Life
Science pp. 6-7
Materials: PowerPoint Presentation
Values Integrated: Appreciation, Initiative, Cooperation, Respect
III. Procedure
A. Preparation

● Greetings

The teacher will greet the pupils.

● Prayer

The teacher will choose one pupil to lead the prayer.

● Checking of Attendance

The teacher will check the attendance.

● Classroom rules

The teacher will remind the pupils regarding the virtual classroom rules.

● Review

The teacher will ask the pupils about their previous lesson.

● Motivation
The teacher will let the pupils to imagine that they will launch and go out of this
world
B. Presentation
The teacher will discuss the planets of the solar system and their distinct features.
C. Application
The teacher will group the pupils into 4 groups.
The teacher will ask the pupils to write an “Oh Yes” and “Oh No” on a bond paper.
The teacher will show questions then one representative of the group will answer if the
statement is True, the “Oh YES!” banner should be raised, and if the statement is False,
the “Oh NO!” banner should be raised.
D. Generalization
The teacher will ask the pupils what they have learned in the discussion.
The teacher will recall the lesson that they have learned
IV. Evaluation
The teacher will post the evaluation in the google classroom.
Direction: Arrange the planets from the nearest to the farthest from the sun.
V. Assignment
The teacher will post the assignment in the google classroom.
Write a 100-word reflection about the lesson for today (Planets of the Solar System). Be
guided with the following questions:
1. What have you learned today?
2. What is your favorite planet among the 8 planets of the solar system? Why?
