RENEWABLE ENERGY RESOURCES

Definition:
 Renewable resources are an energy source that cannot be
depleted and are able to supply a continuous source of
clean energy. They are natural and self-replenishing.
TYPES:
There are several types of renewable energy from which 5 are the
main types of Renewable Energy that are as follows:
 Wind Energy: Energy harnessed by the wind through the use of
Wind Turbines. It is used for generating Electricity and Heating.
 Hydro-Electric Energy: Energy generated by running water through
the use of hydro-electric dams. It is used for generating electricity.
 Geothermal Energy: Energy that comes from the heat of Earth’s
Core. It is used for generating electricity, heating and cooling.
 Biomass Energy: Energy generated by burning organic matter for
e.g: Wood, Crops and Wastage. Its is used for heating, cooking and
generating electricity.
Today, Our Topic is SOLAR ENERGY.
RENEWABLE ENERGY RESOURCES
Solar Energy: It is any type of energy generated by sun. Solar energy
radiation capable of producing heat, causing chemical reactions of
generating electricity.
 USES: It is used for solar water heaters and house heating, reduces
energy bills, helps to protect our environment AND it plays a vital
role in reducing greenhouse emissions.
SOLAR PANELS:
 It is a type of device which is used to absorb the sun's rays and
converts light into electricity.

SOLAR PANELS
FUN FACTS:
 Solar energy was discovered almost 200 years ago.
 The Most Abundant Energy Source in the World Is Solar.
 Solar Panels can get really hot up to 140 degrees!
 Solar energy Has Been Used Since 700 BC.

 The Cost to Install Solar Has Fallen By 89% in the Last Decade
which is expected to decrease till 2050!

 Solar Panels also can work in every type of weather very efficiently
for e.g: Cloudy, Windy etc.
 Solar is now the biggest source of Renewable Energy in Australia.
 The Best Solution from Noise Pollution is Solar.

SOLAR PANELS
ADVANTAGES:
 Reduced electric bill

 Insurance against rising energy costs

 Environmentally friendly

 Energy independence
DISADVANTAGES:
 High initial cost

 Intermittent energy source

 Uses a lot of space

 Small amount of pollution during manufacture, transport and

installation
SOLAR PANELS
DID YOU KNOW?

 China has plans to put Solar Farms in SPACE by 2050!

 You don’t need a Solar Panel to get Solar Energy.

 China Is the Solar Energy King as far its successful solar projects
by 2019.

 Solar Is Cheaper Than Coal: 75% of

United States coal plants cost more than
solar and wind energy and by 2025, all
coal will be more expensive.

 The International Space Station is fully

Solar Powered.
